@twolly11 Not quite this scenario, but Mother of Learning is set in a world where the first big war involving guns saw a lot of unprepared mage-heavy armies get slaughtered, mage-reliant nations lose out, and now mages have to use new strategies to account for them. Its good!
@wagon_bitch It is not only unionization, training costs, regulation that affect wages. Yes obviously they WANT to pay us all less but competition exists and affects wages as well. A business that did that, even without licensing laws for lawn mowing, would be unable to staff
@wagon_bitch@TheWardenSOL@GreenTextRepost Like, aren't you some sort of weird communist? This guy owns all his own equipment and does the work himself. Does the government really need to step in and tell him how much he can ask to get paid, to pay himself?
@wagon_bitch@TheWardenSOL@GreenTextRepost I don't think bureaucracy mandating every individual who wants to create his own business mowing lawns get all sorts of licenses and permits just to do so somehow prevents larger companies from paying employees less. It probably makes it easier for them to set high prices, etc
