@BobEUnlimited Bob, how do you square up your comments on lower spending power with high inflation adjusted earnings from the chart below? I expect weaker job growth with the change in immigration. I also see wage growth steady over the last year at a decent level.

Inflation-adjusted weekly paychecks are now up an estimated 1.5% since Trump took office; at this point in Biden's term, they were collapsing, falling 2.4% on their way to bottoming out at -5.1%...
@DariusDale42 Interesting information - thanks for sharing.. Do you think it makes a little more sense to look at the trends in all of these metrics knowing that it takes a while for policy to work? Ex: private sector is picking up vs govt hiring given policy adjustments that take time?
@nickgiva1@MerlinB_FX Thatโs a fair statement. I donโt think everyone is as knowledgeable or able as you. If they have a chance at US citizenship, they would take it given where they come from. Most immigrants arenโt typically coming from a country they want to stay in.
@omshanti08@fleckcap Trumps pushing for the end of the Chips Act. Similar effect to his comments in July of 24 on Taiwan paying US for military support. Now Taiwan is investing in the US.
@dampedspring@AybalaF58253@DannyDayan5 Why wouldn't bonds be attractive if your view is that the administration is targeting a lower 10 year and a slow down/recession is likely on the horizon?
