This focuses on vacuum requirements for Schlenk line applications, and discusses the uses of vacuum when performing air/moisture-sensitive chemistry, and options for vacuum pumps, measurement and control.
#Bismuth as a Ligand? Sure! Find peerless unsupported TM-to-bismuth dative bonding now @angew_chem! #SOC kicks in and #Umpolung of the Pt-Bi bond is realized by reaction with H2. Txs to the Karttunen lab and @jordipoater for a great collaboration! https://t.co/bq9pqWegpm
Our latest research paper is a collaboration with my good friend Peter O'Brien. He works with highly reactive organolithiums - we thought gels might make them safer & simpler to handle. They did! Even if we dropped one in water, the reaction still worked.

Super excited to share my Schlenk Line tutorial which is now online in @Orgmet_ACS 🥳
I hope that this tutorial will be a helpful resource to anyone performing or teaching air- and moisture-sensitive techniques!
