NEW | Dozens of Artists and Doctors Demand Urgent Medical Access in Gaza

Dozens of international artists, doctors, and human rights groups have joined forces to demand an end to Israel’s “systematic attacks” on Gaza’s medical facilities, warning that the territory’s healthcare system has been pushed to the brink of collapse.

The urgent appeal, signed by celebrities including Cynthia Nixon, Mark Ruffalo, Ilana Glazer, Brian Eno, and Rosie O’Donnell, as well as human rights groups like B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights, calls on world leaders to allow “immediate, unconditional, unhindered, and sustained humanitarian access” to Palestinian patients.

Since Israel’s genocide on Gaza began in 2023, the UN estimates that 94% of hospitals have been damaged or destroyed, and 1,722 healthcare workers have been killed. At least 18,500 Palestinians currently await medical evacuation, with over 1,000 dying while waiting for care. Humanitarian organizations such as MSF, which supports one in five hospital beds in Gaza, have been barred from operating under Israel’s restrictive policies.

The letter is led by the mother of five-year-old Hind Rajab, killed by Israeli fire in January 2024 while awaiting paramedics whose ambulance was shelled. Her story, memorialized in the Academy Award-shortlisted film The Voice of Hind Rajab, underscores the deadly impact of Israel’s attacks on Gaza’s medical system.

Signatories emphasize that Israel’s restrictions on medicine and medical staff are part of a broader campaign that legal experts have described as genocidal, deliberately endangering civilian lives.

The letter will be presented to UK and EU leaders in parliamentary meetings this week, calling for immediate international action to save lives in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

🚨HEARTBREAKING: Diana Al-Yazji had just tucked her three children into bed when Israel killed them all in Gaza.

She stepped upstairs to fetch something her daughter asked for and in those seconds, an Israeli strike hit next door, collapsing the building and burying her kids alive.
