Couple of Semiconductor Engineers from Bengaluru, wanted to do something different, build a processor chip that wouldn't use
- "ARM Architecture Chips" (used by Apple, Qualcomm, Samsung) &
- "x86 Architecture Chips" (used by Intel, AMD, Meta, Google) in computer processing.

The reason why our personal computers are so costly are because both the ARM & x86 Chips are highly licenced and involves massive royalties to be used by any small scale player.

For their EdgeAI Processing they start to build a small form factor device that used
- "RISC-V Architecture Chip" (developed by University of Berkley & open sourced for the good of mankind)

Priyank Kharge, the IT Minister who always has an open eye for any new technology that solves real-life problem, is immediately impressed by the efforts of these engineers, his vision then takes it a step above, gets involved in design & real-life form factor of the device.

& that was how the "World's Most Affordable AI PC & Made in Karnataka - KEO" was born.

For Context, Govt of Karnataka pays 300+ Crores an year as licensing fees to Microsoft, because they run only on x86 Arch Chips.

KEO
- built on Free & Open Source RISC-V Chip, (instead of high cost x86/ARM Chips)
- runs on Free & Open Source Linux Ubuntu, (instead of high license cost of Windows)
- features Free & Open Source Libre Office (instead of high licence cost of MS Office)

KEO was subjected to rigorous testing by Scientists at IISC, IIIT, who passed it with flying colours.

This single device, revolutionises the access to computing, acting as a game changer in providing access to AI Computing to Rural & Poor Kids.

Priyank didn't really stop there, he ensured the production price of the product is kept below INR 18,999. Despite the global increase in RAM Costs. Gets an NGO to purchase 2,000+ Devices & get them distributed to thousands of government schools across the state. And all of this happened under past one year.

Those 2 engineers, who wanted to challenge the monopoly, may have actually broken it today.

These are the success stories that are born when you elect good & intelligent people to power.

No minister in India can say that they have taken a step towards democratising access to computing at grassroots. But, only @PriyankKharge can.

Because, he did & has delivered.

‘AI ಅಭಿಯಾನ’ ಹಾಗೂ ‘ CODING ಗುರುಕುಲ’

ಇದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯುಗ. ನವ ಯುಗ. ಈಗಿನ ಯುವ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಹೊಸ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲು ವಿಶ್ವ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಫರ್ಧೆಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಆಗುವಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 6ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ AI ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ‘AI ಅಕ್ಷರ ಅಭಿಯಾನ’ ಮತ್ತು ‘ಕೋಡಿಂಗ್ ಗುರುಕುಲ’ ಎಂಬ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಇಂದು ನಾನು ಘೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಉಚಿತ ‘ಕೋಡಿಂಗ್ ಗುರುಕುಲ’ ವಿಶೇಷ ತರಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪ್ರತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗೂ AI ಮತ್ತು ಕೋಡಿಂಗ್ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು.

ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಸ್ವಾಮ್ಯದ AI ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಜನವರಿ 2027ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ AI ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಶ್‌ ಕೋರ್ಸ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ AI ಹಬ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವುದು ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಎಲ್‌ಕೆಜಿ ಯಿಂದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೇ ತರಗತಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ಸೂರಿನಡಿ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಮೂಲ ಸೌಕರ್ಯ, ದ್ವಿಭಾಷಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ತರಗತಿಗಳು, ವೃತ್ತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು 1,000 ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಾಗಿ 2 ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 10ಲಕ್ಷ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಶಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲೇಜು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಬಸ್ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ 6 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಉಚಿತ ಬಸ್ ಪಾಸ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾರತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಐಕ್ಯತೆ, ಸಮಗ್ರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಯುವ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 10,000 ಭಾರತ್ ಜೋಡೋ ಯುವ ಸಂಘಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಕ್ರಮ ವಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಯುವ ಪಡೆ ನಾಡಿನ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ, ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಮೌಲ್ಯ, ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗದ ಯುವ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳು ಹೊರ ಹೊಮ್ಮಲು ದಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಸಂಘಕ್ಕೆ 10 ಲಕ್ಷದಂತೆ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ 1,000 ಕೋಟಿ ಅನುದಾನವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಯುವನಿಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ 3.72 ಲಕ್ಷ ನಿರುದ್ಯೋಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಪ್ಲೊಮಾ ಪದವೀಧರರಿಗೆ 1,154 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ನೆರವು ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. 8/20
