PM Carney claimed today that industrial carbon pricing has “zero” direct or indirect impact on food prices.

That is not true.

Ottawa’s own modelling estimated millions in carbon-pricing costs for food, beverage manufacturing in 2022, when the carbon tax was $20 per tonne. Now, it's $110 per tonne. Costs do not simply disappear.

Canada lost 42,000 jobs in August.

What makes it worse is that the cutoff date for this data was August 15, one week before trade negotiations were halted.

The Prime Minster has repeatedly stated that we are growing jobs at four times the rate of the United States.

But when you normalize the data based on population size, that would mean that Canada lost 350,000 jobs compared to the US, while they gained 160,000, in one month.

A spread of jobs of nearly half a million when the data is normalized.
