@missmollybruton An absolute masterclass from Maureen Lipman. I laughed out loud at the “perhaps she’s not cut out to be a lesbian” remark. I can imagine Blanche saying that and a lovely bit of light relief after the ‘Carla in the cupboard’ scene - or should that be a metaphorical closet??
@Sharontweet@munchkindamo Yes! I would genuinely love to hear about one of Corrie’s best ever scenes - Peter at the AA meeting, when the whole family rocked up. I won’t (sadly) because I won’t be there - but you get my drift. Could you post the sherbet lemons?
@munchkindamo@Sharontweet Thank you. I didn’t get them though - surely a small granary wasn’t too much to ask for? I mean, I know he doesn’t have 7 shops anymore but, come on. I’ll forgive Rita for not bringing the sherbet lemons as, well, she’s Rita!
@LizKershawDJ Still miss Steve Wright now. I only listened to Radio 2 for his show - not for the music but for him and his crew. Have you noticed how most hosts are now celebrities and not dj’s at all? Couldn’t care less about box ticking if the product is good. But it clearly isn’t.
@russty_russ Such a sad loss. Miss Steve so much. How good was he that you can remember catchphrases and characters from forty years ago. “Get those geese off” anyone? Sid the manager who regularly got him ‘gigs’ (pronounced with a soft ‘g’) but rang off before giving the details. Genius
