Move over, there’s a new Doctor in the house! 🎓🐾
Meet DogThor, who just “graduated” with his PhD in Paw-litical Science! At CSAP, we believe in supporting every member of our family through their toughest academic journeys.

One week ago, I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation! I'm deeply grateful to my advisors, mentors, and all the amazing scientists whose insights and support shaped this journey. And of course, thanks to Zymoseptoria—such a fascinating fungus to study! ☺️
Excited to share the latest issue of InterConnections from IS-MPMI, where I interview Dr. Achal Rastogi and learned from his perspective and advice for the new generation of scientists.

The remarkable Starships - large mobile elements capable of moving large genomic regions in fungal populations. Changes everything we thought we knew about horizontal gene transfer among fungi and the mobility of large proportion of pan genomes @Hulk_Vogan #ECFG17
🚨 We’re hiring–please spread the word! 🚨 Our lab at @TheSainsburyLab is looking for a pre-doc intern to work on plant immunity research. If you’re a current undergrad/master’s or recent graduate interested in gaining research experience, please apply! https://t.co/G0bgqAkJB5
@GraemeKettles gave a wonderful talk about molecular mimicry of plant cell-surface immune receptors by fungal secreted leucine-rich repeat proteins at #ECFG17. Fascinating insights into host-pathogen interactions!
Meet Juliana! 🌿
Juliana joins us all the way from Colombia! After earning her PhD at Cornell University, she’s now continuing her journey as a postdoctoral researcher at BTI in the Restrepo Lab.
Her research focuses on understanding the pathogens that harm plants, with the goal of finding solutions to protect crops and support sustainable agriculture.
We’re thrilled to have Juliana on the team as she works to uncover the mysteries of plant-pathogen interactions and make an impact in plant science!
In a rush of academia, don't forget to enjoy life, family, good food, outdoor activities, traveling, etc. If you are thinking to do it all after you finish a/an experiment, paper, school, Ph.D., Postdoc, etc., so remember this is just one life, & sadly time is not coming back!
🚨You can now apply for the #NPLinker eScience Workshop to be held in March 2025, in Wageningen, the Netherlands! 🚨 😎
The application form is open till the end of October!
