Trump threatened to have me hanged over a 90-second video I made. I'm a sitting United States Senator and spent decades serving this country, and it didn't matter. Keeping your head down will not keep you safe. Staying quiet will not keep you safe.
😱😱😱 And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media.
A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children.
Lets make this viral again 👇
It was April 30, 2019. The kind of ordinary Tuesday that nobody remembers — until they do.
Inside a classroom at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, students were finishing end-of-semester presentations. Laptops were open. Notes were scattered across desks. It felt like any other day at the end of a semester.
Then everything changed.
A gunman entered the room and opened fire. In an instant, normal life gave way to panic. Students rushed for exits, ducked behind desks, and searched desperately for safety.
Most people ran from the danger.
Riley Howell ran toward it.
At 21 years old, the ROTC cadet had no weapon, no protective gear, and no time to think through a plan. He saw what was happening and reacted.
He charged the shooter.
The tackle was sudden, direct, and decisive. Howell threw himself into the struggle, forcing the gunman off balance and disrupting the attack at its most critical moment.
He was shot multiple times.
But the shooting stopped.
Later, investigators confirmed what many already suspected. The gunman himself admitted that Howell's actions ended the attack. Police also discovered multiple loaded magazines that had never been used.
The attack could have lasted much longer.
It didn't.
Because Riley Howell acted.
The tragedy still claimed lives. Fellow student Ellis Reed Parlier was also killed, and several others were wounded. Families were forever changed by what happened that day.
But amid the grief, one fact remained impossible to ignore.
Riley Howell's decision saved lives.
The story quickly spread beyond the university. People across the country saw in him something rare — courage without hesitation, action without certainty, sacrifice without expectation of reward.
He was buried with full military honors. He also became the first civilian ever to receive the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Medal of Valor.
Yet his legacy was never about medals.
He wasn't on a battlefield. He wasn't wearing a uniform in combat.
He was a student sitting in a classroom.
And when others needed time, Riley Howell gave them his.
There is no formula for that kind of courage.
There is only character.
And on an ordinary Tuesday, Riley Howell showed the world exactly what that looks like.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
Trump said something outside a press gaggle that I don’t think enough people caught.
A reporter called him out on the corruption. He gave three responses.
1. I have the right to do it.
2. He’s not stealing that much. A billion or two billion dollars. Not that much money. Classic Trump.
3. People don’t care.
That’s the permission structure. Our collective apathy is what they’re using to justify everything happening in Washington right now.
Please stand up and prove him wrong.
Chip Franklin on Trump: “How do you fall asleep during an NBA playoff game surrounded by thousands of screaming fans who just booed you and hate you? It’s easy, you’re a mentally ill sociopathic malignant narcissist”
Last night, my son Jordan came into my room and said, "Mom, let me tell you what happened to me today! I was at Walmart, getting ready to leave, when my car battery died. So, I went back into the store and bought some jumper cables...
There was a man in a white truck parked next to me. I asked if he could give me a jump, and he said what I really needed was a new battery. I told him I couldn’t afford a new battery right now because I had a $400 insurance bill due today. The man asked if I was a single parent because I had the baby with me, and I told him, 'No, her mom is at work.' He told me to pull around to the auto department, so I did. I thought he was going to have them charge my battery. But Walmart auto was really busy, so the man said, 'Follow me to Auto Zone.'
I followed him to the store. The man went inside, talked to someone, then came back to my car and said someone would be out in a few minutes. He shook my hand and drove off. A few minutes later, an employee came out with a brand new battery to put in my car! Jordan had tears in his eyes!
He said, 'Mom, I didn’t even know the man’s name!'
To the kind gentleman driving the white truck in North Augusta yesterday, who helped my son and granddaughter… Thank you!!
ABSOLUTELY. She didn't let him lie. She didn't let him bully. She stood her ground. When he couldn't take the heat and started to leave, she REFUSED to let him go without calling him out for abandoning his duty to answer to the American people.
EVERY reporter should see this, and take notes!
So far only Barbara Walters and
Kristen Welker had any courage and balls when interviewing the sexually assaulting felon president of US.
Take note journalists. Do better.
Call out that lying SOB every single time. Americans deserve better than hearing his lies and bullshit.
It's funny how the female reporter is just sitting there all calm while the man who told you that a woman is too emotional to be president is having a full blown crash out on national TV.
With the shooting in Toledo, Ohio - it might be a good time to point out that since Trump’s 2nd term: Republicans introduced zero gun reform bills, despite almost 600 mass shootings - while introducing over 800 restrictive voting bills, despite only 40 cases of voter fraud.
This interview hurt my soul. The mistreatment of black women and journalists by this President is down right embarrassing and unacceptable. Kristin Welker is neither crooked or stupid. She is a history making journalist who has earned the right to be respected. The President should apologize immediately.
