@Friendswoo65122@MattWalshBlog Thank you. If social security ever went away we would lose our home. It is not our only source of income but I became extremely ill 10 years ago and it cost most of our savings.
Elon Musk’s DOGE got its hands on your sensitive Social Security data. That data ended up on unauthorized cloud servers.
Elon Musk must answer for what happened and for the damage DOGE caused.
Fuck Samuel Alito and this bullshit argument.
Marriage is not just some private religious ceremony. The government attaches real, tangible benefits to it: tax treatment, inheritance rights, Social Security benefits, health insurance protections, property rights, hospital access, immigration benefits, and a mountain of other legal advantages.
So spare me the claim that same-sex marriage is somehow an affront to “religious liberty.” Your religion does not get to decide which American citizens qualify for government benefits.
If they genuinely believe marriage should belong exclusively to religion, fine. Then take government out of marriage completely. No married filing jointly. No spousal tax breaks. No government-recognized marital status. Every American files separately, pays separately, inherits under the same rules, and receives exactly the same treatment regardless of whether some church considers them married.
Then marriage can be whatever religious ceremony people want it to be.
But you do not get to keep every government benefit of marriage for heterosexual couples while telling gay Americans that recognizing their marriages somehow violates somebody else’s religion.
That isn’t religious liberty. That’s using religion as an excuse to give one group of citizens government privileges that another group is forbidden from accessing.
If marriage comes with government benefits, then equal protection means those benefits cannot be reserved for the couples Samuel Alito personally finds acceptable.
Ashley Moody knew $10 million from a healthcare settlement belonged to the state. A grand jury says it was diverted into Republican campaigns, and instead of stopping it she let her team scrub her department's name off the paperwork. Now she's in the Senate, hiding behind sealed court records.

@marioguerrag When I was a teenager, my chronically ill sister was relentlessly bullied. The school did nothing about it. One day I walked into the ringleader's homeroom, shoved her against a blackboard, and told her to stop. She did. I hate violence but I really hate bullying.
@burryusalive@AngieNixon I read the Democratic Socialists of America website and disagree with some of their views. As is my right.
And if you are going to continue to name call when someone is being civil, you are no better than MAGA.
I'm finished talking to you.
@realDonaldTrump As soon as you use a stupid middle school name I stop paying attention. You work for ALL the people of the US. So straighten up and start acting like a President, stop tearing things down, starting wars, alienating allies, and naming everything after yourself and DO YOUR JOB.
@roospooscreate@Suzierizzo1 Am I missing something? I ask people that all the time to make conversation because I'm genuinely interested! As a former business owner I love to hear people's stories, and do it to encourage others - never to kill anyone's spirit!
@burryusalive@AngieNixon And seriously I hope you aren't campaigning for her because insulting the intelligence of people who have genuine concerns is definitely not going to help get votes.
If I were "trained" or whatever I certainly wouldn't be considering voting for her or engaging with you.
@burryusalive@AngieNixon No need for insults.
Democratic Socialism wants to abolish prisons, defund the police, and abolish the senate. Their policies in the middle east and around the world would leave the US vulnerable. While I don't agree with where we are now I believe this is overkill.
@DcWebb93@davidjollyfl@AngieNixon Corruption is no better though... Ashley Moody directly enabled the $10M theft of taxpayer money for "Hope Florida" which ended up being a front for Republican PACs.
I don't like socialism either but I really hate corruption! Our choices for senator aren't great.
@AngieNixon The only reason I would vote for you is because Ashley Moody is so corrupt. I am extremely unsettled about voting for a socialist. Please back away from the extremism and you will definitely have my vote!
A 13-year-old Honduran boy named Angel did not have representation when he appeared before a judge. A judge asked if there was a reason he could not return to Honduras. Angel told the judge, ‘My mom and almost my entire family are here. It’s too dangerous to go back.’ The judge ruled that Angel did not qualify for asylum and asked, 'Would you like to request voluntary departure, or should I issue a removal order?’
‘I don’t know,’ Angel replied before bursting into tears. He stared ahead stoically before continuing to cry and said, ‘I have no one. I have nothing.’
This is not a choice a child should be given, but it's the unfortunate experience of many migrant children.
Texas, migrant children as young as 2 years old are appearing in U.S. immigration courts, where they face deportation proceedings without guaranteed legal representation.
Witnesses inside the courtrooms describe a 6-year-old pretending to fly an airplane.
Mateo, a 3-year-old in a blue jacket, is playing with the microphone. The judge spoke to Mateo’s attorney, who appeared remotely.
A teen girl tried to make eye contact with a friend, only for the judge to reprimand her: ‘I see you’re smiling and think these proceedings are funny, but I need you to pay attention.’
In July, the Trump admin let a years-long contract with the Acacia Center for Justice lapse, ending federal funding for 100 legal services providers for more than 20,000 unaccompanied migrant children: Children who are usually in the United States are trying to escape trafficking, abandonment, violence, gangs, or other ab*se.
In August, the Office of Refugee Resettlement gave $20 million to the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, a nonprofit organization that provides legal services. However, many advocates say USCRI lawyers either weren’t present or didn’t speak up when children were in court.
In some cases, USCRI attorneys even posed as ‘friend of the court’ for some of the children, including Angel, according to Lauren Fisher Flores, legal director at ProBar.
And now, the Trump administration will allow lawyers to start requesting virtual interviews for kids seeking asylum.
Children have to make their cases to receive asylum, and since procedures are also constantly changing, this can put extra stress on children. The interviews can take hours and dive into potentially traumatic events. And without a lawyer, kids may have to face this trauma alone.
Under Trump, they’re being pushed through faster hearings and asylum interviews without adequate legal counsel, which makes it harder for them to seek asylum and other protections under the law.
The goal is to deport more children faster.
Attorneys representing migrant children initially try to establish a rapport with their clients and help them understand what to expect in asylum interviews. But children are struggling to understand, as many of them aren’t able to speak English, let alone understand complex legal terms. So kids are being asked to make choices about their cases when they may not fully understand what those choices mean.
In an interview with a 3-year-old, who was too small to fit in the chair and ended up sitting on the floor. The child put bandages on the furniture and played with dinosaurs while the asylum officer tried to ask the child questions about their case.
A judge asked a group of 15 minors without attorneys: ‘Is this your first time in immigration court?’ They all answered, ‘Yes.’ ‘Do any of you want voluntary departure?’ the judge asked. No one raised their hand. Another child stretched her hands playfully toward the sky.
The initiative comes under the direction of White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller, so that the Trump admin can deport as many migrant children as possible as quickly as possible.
Nearly 200,000 migrant children have been ordered removed from the U.S. since Trump returned to office, according to The Guardian. About 70% were younger than 13.
This is the supposed pro-life party, making kids face legal challenges alone and sending them back to danger in the country they were trying to escape.
@soulkhan As a person with a severe immune disorder and a life-threatening allergy to tobacco smoke, I always wear a mask when I travel and often when I walk outside airports.
How disgusting that a so-called doctor would photograph someone without their consent in order to ridicule them.🤬
