Four commercial labs are now able to test for #monkeypox. This brings testing capacity up to 70,000 tests/week.

Increasing testing capacity and access will help us better understand this outbreak & how to respond.

Today, CDC issued a HAN alerting clinicians of circulating parechovirus (PeV) in the U.S.

Clinicians should consider PeV infection in infants presenting with fever, sepsis-like syndrome or signs of neurologic involvement without other known cause.

BA.5 is not the last variant we'll confront

But over the past 18 months, we've learned a lot about this virus

And have built up our capabilities

So as BA.5 becomes dominant

We're ready to manage it in a way that minimizes disruptions and suffering for the American people
