Wanted to start the new year right and come clean abt my ATLA shipping. So, I’m a WOC, the “good girl” who babysat and uplifted others’ needs. I shipped KA way back in 2005. I was rooting for A to be with K. I wrote fanfic about it! But then something happened. I got older. 1/
@zkdokies Our sweet darlings have the best calm-and-collected reunions that envy a Regency novel… but deep down are thinking about the closest storage closet or empty corridor they can finally sneak into for their *real* reunion. 😅😊🥹
@Linnature_ “Zuko, it’s okay; you’re not hurting me.”
“😳 How did you know th—?”
“You haven’t blinked since you went in. 😂”
“Oh. 😅… I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. It’s sweet! 😊 Just go slow, okay?”
“Alright. 😊”
@Linnature_ I like how Zuko’s frowning in concentration and how his head is leaning over her while he moves, as if making sure she’s not signaling that it’s “too fast” or “too rough” and being such a good listener. ☺️ He wants to make sure she’s enjoying this.
these fanarts are so married zuko and katara, splitting their time half the year in the fire nation, the other half in the southern water tribe with their pets 💞
@Lifeislife3346@kataracomfort I loved her hair down! To me, Katara being comfortable with her hair down signified her evolution from a naive watertribe girl to a brave, worldly, cultured young woman.
@zutarathinker Meanwhile, Kataang is the subtle “if I put all the time/energy/hope I have to this boy, he will eventually be the man I always wanted… and any flaws he has will just mean I have to do better” trope. 😖 Aang never compromised anything and Katara just became a shell of her self.
@cilphyy Awww, I love how Katara isn’t a morning person and Zuko isn’t a night owl, and yet, they make it work. It’s a testament to how nothing worth having ever comes easily, and idea of Zuko and Katara trying to adapt to each others’ routines demonstrates how resilient they are. ☺️
@unf0rgettable01 The number of times Aang tiptoed away from or downplayed Katara’s rage? The way Mai brushed off Zuko’s needs and gaslit him about the breakup? Gross. Zuko and Katara were willing to face each others’ rage and help overcome their traumatic pasts…as friends! 🥹That is real love.
@vmiistudio He’s so sweet, even when he’s drunk. And I love that all Katara wants to do is stay with him (rather than take care of him— it’s a refreshing thing after seeing Katara coddle Aang all the time). ☺️
@JIROKUNNN@zukokins He still has that baby-face though and she looks like a college girl. This is gonna be weird…
Katara: “wow Aang- you mastered waterbending fast!”
Sokka: “fast? It took him 3 years! He’s as tall as you now.”
Katara: “oh… he got taller? 🥺… I… I didn’t even notice…”
@hermomoness No he’s not, Sokka is sitting down. I don’t see a chair behind Aang. 🧐 Even in the ATLA finale scene, Aang was standing and never sat down. Also, are you saying Netflix ATLA was shallow because….
@hermomoness@GamerChick9001 Yep it’s me! No need for hate-I think ppl took that post the wrong way. Katara is proud of her heritage and would always consider herself SWT, but “water is the element of change. I think her bravery comes with seeing herself as more than just her heritage. She had “inner fire”.
Excuse me ma’am- Katara was the one with the “heart of a hero”. Her fiery passion was what broke the iceberg. She chased Aang when he ran off, comforted his insecurities, had discipline in her bending, and fought for others. Aang was an evasive child inspired by Katara to grow.
@hermomoness It’s funny how Aang has more a baby-face and is *much* shorter than Katara in the children’s book, as if the artist didn’t know these two would end up making out by the end of the show. 😅 Katara looks like his babysitter 😆
