Your new song 'We will dance again' has brought an avalanche of online anger, condemnation and venomous fury.

WHY?

Simply because it dares to express a compassionate & supportive tone for the victims of the attacks at the Nova music festival on 7 October 2023!

An attack where Hamas TERRORISTS killed 378 people & took 44 hostages (while in total that day, across the whole of Israel, they killed 1,200 people & took 251 people hostage).

The online “outrage” directed at Boy George - purely for releasing a SONG that expresses his views - has now led him to having to step down from an upcoming stage production!

How can this happen?

People are, of course, entitled to disagree with any artist’s views.

But making an artist afraid to perform - due to legitimate concerns for their SAFETY – is totally UNACCEPTABLE!

The lyrics of his song convey a POSITIVE hope for the future!

And it commemorates the memory of the HUNDREDS of young people who were MURDERED while they were innocently celebrating the life-affirming joy of MUSIC!

Whatever your political views may be, there is one indisputable FACT: the events of that day were a TERRORIST attack!

And NO artist (in any field of art) should EVER be condemned, silenced or 'cancelled' for wanting to express their views, thoughts or feelings about such an appalling event!

If you disagree with me, let me pose a theoretical question:

Imagine if – more than 20 years ago - Boy George had released a song about the victims of the 9/11 attacks, with lyrics that said he ‘stood with America’.

Would there have been ANY backlash about it at all?

I doubt it.

And yet, 9/11 & 7 October were BOTH heartless, cold-blooded TERRORIST attacks...

So, what's the difference?

Is it simply because Boy George’s new song says he 'stands with the Jews'?

That is his TRUTH (& I thank him for it).

And if you disagree, so be it.

But no artist should have to fear for their safety simply for expressing their truth!
