🌟 Bank of India – Driving Inclusive Growth for 120 Years 🌟
For decades, @BankofIndia_IN has been a lifeline for the rural economy, carrying banking to every doorstep and empowering communities. Through PMJDY, BOI opened millions of accounts, ensuring financial inclusion for the unbanked. With PMJJBY and PMSBY, it safeguarded families against risks, while APY and NPS created strong retirement safety nets for the future.
From direct benefit transfers that deliver government support seamlessly, to empowering SHGs, farmers, and small entrepreneurs, BOI has ensured that the benefits of development reach the grassroots.
In every national initiative, Bank of India has been not just a participant, but a driving force of inclusive growth and self-reliance.
On this historic Foundation Day, @fboioa_india salute BOI’s enduring commitment to building trust, strengthening rural India, and shaping an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

🌟 Bank of India – 120 Years of Nation Building 🌟
Since 1906, @BankofIndia_IN has stood tall as an institution of national importance — the first Indian bank to open an overseas branch in London (1946), the first to fully computerize a branch (1989), and a pioneer in rural credit and MSME empowerment.
For 120 years, BOI has been more than a financial institution. It has financed infrastructure, powered industries, nurtured agriculture, and reached the remotest villages, turning aspirations into achievements. From the freedom struggle to Digital India, Bank of India has been India’s trusted growth partner.
This proud legacy has been built on the dedication and sacrifices of generations of officers and employees, whose commitment continues to uphold the dignity and values of our institution. On this historic milestone, we salute a journey of courage, trust, and innovation that mirrors the rise of our Nation itself.
@fboioa_india reaffirms its pledge to safeguard officers’ dignity and welfare, ensuring that their strength continues to fuel BOI’s mission of service, progress, and excellence.
Together, officers and the Bank march ahead — safeguarding a glorious legacy while shaping the India of tomorrow.

Most departments and regulators of banking and other financial institutions are working 5 days a week. Cashless transactions have increased rapidly. 5DaysBanking will increase this figure even more. Immediate action must be taken.

@PMOIndia
"In 2010, PSU banks employed 8.1 lakh staff, efficiently managing workloads and ensuring customer satisfaction. Today, staff strength has fallen to just 5.6 lakh (a 30% drop), despite a surge in business and profitability.
Over the past decade, PSU bank profits have quadrupled, from ₹44,901 crore in FY10 to a record ₹1.4 lakh crore in FY24. This translates to per-employee profits increasing by 4x, yet the number of officers per branch continues to decline.
The impact? Remaining staff are overburdened, customers face delays, and service quality suffers. This isn’t just a #WorkLifeBalance issue—it’s a systemic crisis that threatens the future of Indian banking.
While discussions around #5DaysBanking are important, the immediate need is staff recruitment to address this growing gap. Without adequate manpower, the very foundation of public sector banking is at risk.
@DFS_India must urgently prioritize large-scale recruitment drives to restore balance, improve services, and relieve staff from unsustainable workloads. Profits mean little if the workforce driving them is stretched to the brink.
It’s time to act before the cracks deepen! #PSUBanks #StaffShortage #RecruitNow"
@PMOIndia@FinMinIndia ?
#AcuteStaffShortageInPSBs#5DaysBanking
Today, the weekend will be observed by RBI, Central Govt, many State Govts, and mostly PSU sector employees, but PSBs bankers will be required to work. What is the justification for this inequality?
How long bankers will have to wait for #5DaysBanking ?
@PMOIndia@FinMinIndia
Respected @PMOIndia@FinMinIndia@DFS_India
Bankers are voicing their grave concern regarding the delay in implementing #5DaysBanking notwithstanding written assurances, and the #AcuteStaffShortageinPSBs , causing customer and employee dissatisfaction, and frequent intimidation.
Like other countries It is imperative that the @PMOIndia@FinMinIndia tackles the issues of acute staff shortage in PSBs and the five-day banking week, without any further delay. Now the Work stress has become a killing agent in PSBs #AcuteStaffShortageinPSBs#5DaysBanking
