My latest article argues that the #Horn is entering a new strategic era in which connectivity is becoming a source of geopolitical influence. Within this emerging regional geography, the #RedSea is evolving into the maritime infrastructure that underpins economic integration, while #Sudan faces a defining strategic choice: remain trapped in conflict or position itself as the region’s principal connecting state. https://t.co/Bc050GNXAD
The Horn of Africa is undergoing a profound strategic transformation. Power is increasingly being shaped not by borders alone, but by the networks that connect economies—ports, transport corridors, logistics systems, energy infrastructure, digital connectivity, and the Red Sea. In my latest article, I argue that understanding the region through territorial disputes alone is no longer sufficient. The emerging strategic geography of the Horn is increasingly organised around connectivity, and this shift carries important implications for Ethiopia, Sudan, the Red Sea, and the wider region. @Sawa5hager Well I am not an expert on immigration I am a geopolitical expert and that’s my analysis you’re welcome to debate it would an alternative analysis.
It’s ironic to hear this argument from defenders of a country whose greatest export has been its own people. Eritrea has one of the world’s highest per-capita refugee outflows, no national elections since 1993, ranks last in the World Press Freedom Index, and enforces indefinite national service. Humanitarian hardship does not determine geopolitical relevance. If it did, your argument would apply to Eritrea first.
Ethiopia can’t survive without food assistance from USA 🇺🇸 & EU. Ethiopia will never rise. The United States has announced more than USD one billion in humanitarian and disaster-response assistance through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP), with Ethiopia among the over 40 countries expected to benefit from the funding. https://t.co/0KielQBVS8
The article argues that the Horn of Africa is entering a new strategic era in which influence is increasingly shaped by connectivity rather than territorial control. Ports, transport corridors, energy infrastructure, digital networks, and the Red Sea are becoming central
@Mux8817 You seem to have replied to an article I didn’t write. My argument is about structural change, not political endorsement. Networks, trade corridors and connectivity will continue to reshape the Horn regardless of who occupies the Prime Minister’s office in Addis Ababa.
Land for the Brotherhood: Leaked Video Reveals Ali Karti’s Invitation to Settle Egyptian Islamists in Sudan
An invitation to the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood to expand into Sudan has resurfaced after Sudanese activists recirculated an old video of Ali Ahmed Karti, the Secretary-General of Sudan's Islamic Movement (the Muslim Brotherhood). The clip, dating back to Karti's tenure as foreign minister, features a 2013 television interview conducted while the late Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, a leading figure in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, was in office.
During the interview, Karti explicitly questioned why Egyptians were not making use of Sudan's expansive, sparsely populated land, noting that Egypt was struggling with a severe population crisis under Morsi's rule. Activists have strongly condemned the remarks as a direct invitation to the Muslim Brotherhood-led Egyptian government at the time to expand into and settle Sudanese territory. Critics argue the footage serves as definitive proof of Karti's ultimate loyalty to the transnational Islamist movement over the national sovereignty of the Sudanese state.
@Ymedhane15 I hope you’ll solve your issues I want nothing but the best for you guys I just don’t understand why you Eritrean get mad when talk about Sudan and Ethiopia relations.
The growing influence of the Iranian axis on the political and military rhetoric of Sudan’s military leadership reflects a significant shift in the strategic doctrine underpinning the country’s ongoing war.

@YonnasM Equally SAF is using Tigray militias and militias from Eritrea and Ukraine besides radical militias. SAF is supported and controlled by Egypt and Saudis and Iran.
