@TeamYouTube The problem is I can't find the account that this payment is attached to, so can't sign in to access the support! Why is it so hard to actually speak to someone and try to sort this out? This is not a generic problem, so the generic fixes don't help me. Please can you??
@YouTube please help. I'm paying you 11.99 and I can't find any accounts that have a subscription on them so I want to cancel the payment. Obviously, I don't have any account details, simply the proof that 11.99 Is being paid from my account monthly. Please help.
@TeamYouTube Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. The problem is these are quite possibly from an old account of mine or my husband's, so not necessarily unauthorised. I just need to find a way to verify any old email accounts attached to my bank payments so I can cancel the monthly contract
@DanielSalinas00 notes that, in the 70s and 80s, the foundation of modern Mexico was often portrayed as built on Cortes' conquest, another common tropes he identifies. Yet he's clear that there is not one common narrative or story....
There is much evidence in the Spanish conversion narratives produced in 16C. that the 'potential' of the indigenous peoples was highlighted, and that imagery of them 'living in darkness' and thus were prime for religious intervention to bring them to the 'light of faith'
Now @amyfullermorgan discussing the 'White Saviour' and the 'Grateful Convert' in colonial narratives and the erasure of the indigenous allies who were integral in Cortes' success #500yearson
Some fascinating discussion of the 'wishful thinking' surrounding recent evidence of Norse immigrants travelling further into North America than Newfoundland, some even proposing interaction between Maya and the Norse.
Fascinating paper by M4C doctoral candidate Natasha Bailey about the pulque ban of 1570 and how the pulque trade provides evidence of indigenous resistance. Cheers! #500yearson
Avoid getting caught up in the 2020 humble-bragging about how productive people have been, which inevitably leads to feeling inadequate for not having written 4 books, 2 articles and whatever else some may have achieved. I worked. And survived. That's enough for me!
Happy New Year to all! While 2020 was an utter sh*tshow, I spent yesterday desperately trying to reflect on any positives. Not in an 'I've been so productive' way, but in a '2020 hasn't beaten me' kind of way....
Most importantly, I survived emotionally unscathed (mostly) thanks to fantastic family and friends. Seeing so many relationships strain and crumble makes me truly grateful for all the laughter and happiness my little family shares. We pulled each other up.
It's out at last! The first publication from the Centre for the Study of Religion and Conflict at NTU #CSRC. And currently 20% off the paperback for those seeking a New Year's bargain! https://t.co/MVUMVOHmGs
