Last night was the premiere of our new @Undisclosedpod series on Rocky Myers, who sits on Alabama's death row despite significant evidence of his innocence. You can check out our 1st episode here: https://t.co/PR3Hy6AKU8
Thankyou @Undisclosedpod for telling Rocky’s story- an innocent, Intellectually Disabled man on Death Row despite his jury’s decision for LWOP. Judge overrode that & gave him a death sentence. His case was never heard in Federal Court d/t atty abandonment. @unkyoka @johnlegend
Judicial override requires a judge to demonstrate 'significant reasons for why he or she is choosing to override the jury's decision.' The judge in Mr. Myers’ case did not. Watch to learn more. https://t.co/r8CY1xirmq

Alabama Is Going to Execute Rocky Myers. He Might Be Innocent. via @thenation https://t.co/wpYJyy8jDi Convicted by all-white jury in a weeklong trial, a man with an IQ of 75 or less is on death row. If this isn't a situation where the Feds should interfere, I don't know what is!
#Alabama Is Going to Execute #RockyMyers. He Might Be Innocent. The case of an intellectually disabled prisoner on death row is a window into the many flaws in the #deathpenalty in America. https://t.co/IN7BIY3Sei @thenation@DPInfoCtr
“To Kacey Keeton @yepthatgirl_klk , a federal defender who picked up Rocky’s appeal in 2007, the case is a checklist for everything that’s wrong with the death penalty in America.” @KatrinaNation https://t.co/TiV8x3mYDD
Rocky can only read at a 3rd grade level, so when he received a letter saying that his lawyer missed the deadline to file further appeals in his case and that the state would be moving to execute him, he had to ask another prisoner to read it aloud to him. https://t.co/cbGBFdbkaX
