A blue plaque at 24 Charlotte Street was unveiled by Town Mayor Cllr Sarah Boad on Thursday, 4 June, honouring Eleanor Velasco Thornton – the model for the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy emblem.

Mayor of Leamington, Cllr Sarah Boad, visited a half-term event at Crown Way.
Organised by Warwick District Council, the day featured crafts, gardening and activities for local children with Arty-folks, CLEAN and community partners.

The Mayor, Cllr Boad, has enjoyed a busy start with civic and charitable engagements.
She welcomed Stratford-upon-Avon's new Mayor on Friday 15, attended their civic service and the Warwickshire Open Studios launch on Sunday 17, and joined a dementia awareness walk on Monday.
The final 2026 local election result are in and its our 8th year in a row of making gains 🔶
We won 844 seats, a gain of 255 🔶
