What a moving plenary this morning on my favorite letter of the ABCDEF bundle. Always remember to support the family members of our ICU patients; they are the co-survivors of trauma. @DGlaucomflecken@LGlaucomflecken#PICS-F #SCCM2023
We followed family members for one year after having a loved one admitted to the ICU with COVID. Even one year later it seems this was associated with high rates of PTSD. Great work by a great team @JRandallCurtis1! Thanks @AnnalsATS ! https://t.co/6rPqOPRNCG
In 13,731 patients, "in-person family visitation was associated with a lower risk of received a diagnosis of any incident psychiatric disorder within 1 year after discharge (RR, 0.79; 95% CI, 0.68-0.92)"

"What are you most worried about?"
"What are you hoping for?"
These are 2 questions to start exploring goals/values.
Even if you get the answer, don't stop.
Always follow with "What else?".
They always have more than one thing to hope for (or to be worried about).
Reunited at #ATS2022! I’m incredibly grateful to have these two as my amazingly caring and supportive mentors, role models, and friends. @KnowYourWishes and @AmassTim

A small dose of joy…
My dad baked and mailed me 12 lbs of biscotti (individually wrapped), which I passed out to my colleagues and friends in our ICUs today. He even included these adorable signs.
