GUN VIOLENCE: Parents of the kids killed in Uvalde pleaded with Gov. Abbott to call a special session of the legislature & raise the legal age of gun ownership from 18 - 21. He refused. He said Uvalde "could have been worse." The Gov & Lt. Gov decide which laws get priority.

2. HEALTHCARE: TX is last in the US for healthcare access. The Lt Governor sets the agenda for the TX Senate & could prioritize laws that'd get more Texans healthcare. Expanding Medicaid would do that & reopen rural hospitals (w/ 90% of it paid for by the federal gov).
