Everyone praising Mark Carney’s speech as “bold,” “brave,” or “eloquent,” and treating it as evidence that the West can still rescue itself, is still misunderstanding the nature of the crisis.

The “rules-based international order” didn’t erode gradually or mysteriously; it collapsed the moment Western governments showed that the rules don’t apply when the violator is an ally. Gaza didn’t expose a weakness in the system that could be patched or repaired; it revealed what the system actually is.

For two years, the Western world didn’t merely fail to restrain Israel; it funded it, armed it, vetoed accountability, rewrote legal standards in real time, and criminalized dissent at home. International law was selectively suspended, not overwhelmed like some people want to say, and once legality becomes conditional, the concept itself ceases to exist.

That was the real point of no return in 2023. Not because Donald Trump violating the sovereignty of Greenland broke the order, but because the precedent was set in full view of the world: mass killing can be lawful if it’s committed by the right state, against the right people, with the right patrons. After that, no appeal to “norms” or “institutions” can be taken seriously again.

Don’t gaslight yourselves into thinking that Carney is offering a path to renewal here; he’s delivering a sophisticated obituary. You can’t rebuild credibility with speeches after showing that the law is optional. Anyone treating this as a hopeful turning point is as delusional as a person watching their house burn and believing better fire alarms will restore the structure.

It’s already over. And as the Western order fractures under the weight of its own contradictions, Gaza won’t be a footnote to its collapse. It’ll be remembered as the moment the world finally understood that the system had died long before anyone admitted it.

The Israeli army is committing terrible massacres in Jabalia refugee camp and many areas in North Gaza, burning houses, and using tanks and artillery bombardment and forcing many innocent civilians to walk as human shields in front of the army’s vehicles. The Israeli army isolated the Northern part of Gaza completely from Gaza city. The area is already subjected to starvation, deprivation of clean water and medical care. According to witnesses in the area bodies of killed people are scattered in the streets. The army is also trying to force the medical personnel to evict the three hospitals in the area.

يعني اليوم لولا انه جلسة مجلس الأمن مفتوحة ومنقولة، مثلاً ما كنا عرفنا من أي وسيلة اعلام عربية شغالين فيها سودانيين او عاملة من داخل السودان انه جلسة مجلس الأمن اليوم لا تقل سخونةً عن معارك المدرعات والفاشر وكانت جبهة معركة دبلوماسية بين الدولة وممثلها السفير البطل حارس السيادة الحارث إدريس ولأول مرة وبعد تجاهل شهور ظهر ممثل دولة الامارات للرد على السودان بتعالي وصلف كولونيالي بامتياز، كانت مداخلات السفير الحارث درس في الوطنية والالتزام تماماً كما نراه من جنود الدولة في الخرطوم والفاشر هذه الأيام. المبعوث الاماراتي لما تسمعه بيتكلم وكأنه بتسمع في بكري الجاك ولا خالد سلك ولا ياسر عرمان ولا بابكر فيصل..الخ القحاتة بتكلم وبتعرف أوجه الشبه بيناتهم درجة التماثل، مثل:

-رفض الاعتراف بشرعية الحكومة السودانية.
-حمّل المبعوث الإماراتي الحكومة السودانية مسؤولية بداية الحرب.
-اتهام الحكومة السودانية بعرقلة المساعدات الإنسانية.
-اتهام الحكومة السودانية بعرقلة مفاوضات جدة.
-ابتزاز السودانيين بالمساعدات الإنسانية، للحد اللي افتكر انه بيشتري صمت السودانيين وقبولهم بالإبادة بسبعين مليون دولار لما قال "التزمت الامارات بسبعين مليون دولار لإغاثة السودانيين"، حتى يرد عليه السفير الحارث باننا لا نحتاج اموالكم، فقط ارفعوا ايديكم عنّا.

رسالتي لجانب كبير من السودانيين الشغالين في قنوات عربية وصحف ومواققع الكترونية اشتغلوا شغلكم، لكن لو سمحتو ما تجو تاني تحاضرونا عن حرية الرأي والتعبير والمعلومة، نهائي.. اسي الحكومة قدمت كم دليل وكم تصريح وكم بيان وكم خطاب في مجلس الامن وكم شكوى وكم مؤامرة حاكتها أبوظبي باستخدام قروشها العملت ليها علاقات favors في دول دائمة العضوية عشان تقمع صوت السودان اللي بيواجه حرب ابادة واقتلاع وتهجير واستعباد من ابوظبي بواسطة المليشيا وذراعها السياسي قحت، وانتو ولا واحد من الأخبار دي اتجرئتوا تجيبوهو ولو حتى في صفحاتكم الشخصية خلي الوسائل الاعلامية الشغالين فيها، والله دي ما مزايدة عليكم ولا من حق زول يزايد عليكم.. دة مجرد طلب انه بالله ياخ ما تزايدو على الناس انتو ديل بقيم الصحافة وحرية التعبير واي زول يكون مدرك لحدود الواقع.

اسي نقابة الصحفيين المنتخبة دي ما شايفة انه الديموقراطية ومصالح عضويتها الحقيقية في انه حرب الابادة دي تقيف بوقف ابوظبي للدعم غير المحدود اللي صحافة العالم كله قاعدة تتكلم عنه الا الصحافة العربية والسودانية .. ياخ حتى المنتمين للنقابة دي من الصحفيين الشغالين في وسائل اعلام غير عربية، تقاريرهم كلها ضاربة وشغالين يمشوا في سردية المليشيا والإمارات بتاعت كيزان وحرب جنرالين وتغبيش يمكن يكون تاريخي عديل.. الناس ديل بتحركوا في الواقع بدون اي وعي تاريخي، لأنه التاريخ بسجل الحاجات كلها!

Although the protest was a success, I hope next time non-Sudanese would also participate and show solidarity.

The UAE is killing Sudanese people silently and the world is letting them get away with it. It shouldn’t just be “Sudanese in London” protesting. It should be everyone!
