Curious! @Keir_Starmer keeps saying there's free #childcare for all from 9 months to 4y, failing to mention that eligibility criteria means the poorest children miss out. Universal access would be very welcome in the upcoming child poverty strategy. What say you @educationgovuk?
@PippaCrerar@jessicaelgot This policy must be scrapped in full for all. Otherwise some families will be forced to remain in poverty because of this government’s choices.
Very welcome news! (Although a little odd that it wasnt in the PM's speech). So needed if the Government is serious about tackling child poverty @Gingerbread@CPAGUK

As the UK’s leading autism research charity, we are deeply concerned by the recent comments made by Robert F Kennedy Jr., President Trump, and the Republican Trump administration on autism.
Great to see. Ending the two child limit and the benefit cap shown time and again as being one of the most cost effective measures to tackle child poverty
Tackling child poverty will be my top priority as Deputy Leader.
Everything is on the table, including removing the two-child limit.
As Deputy Leader — with a seat in Cabinet — I will be fighting to lift children out of poverty day in, day out:

Clear message from the Children's Commissioner this morning: abolish the two child limit! About half of the households impacted are single parent households and @gingerbread we are calling for the abolition of the two child limit to be central to the child poverty strategy
Child poverty is not a statistic, it is a blight on children's lives & ambitions. As Children's Commissioners @childcomwales@CYPCS@nichildcom we are united in calling for the child poverty strategy to tackle its root causes & to act with urgency. 👇

Exciting week for us at Gingerbread. We're in Parliament on Wednesday sharing voice recordings of single parents sharing their experiences of Universal Credit. The stories demonstrate powerfully what's wrong with the system. Make sure your MP is there to hear those stories👇
📢 Today we’re launching our #SupportNotPunish Week of Action!
The government is reviewing how Universal Credit works. We want them to hear the experiences of single parents so they understand what needs to change.
Looking forward to talking about the changes announced, why we think they have the potential to make things better, but also what the govt needs to do to make sure the reforms have the greatest impact. More on our website - https://t.co/bcOUkWExpJ
Major changes announced this week to the Child Maintenance Service - some parents will pay less, others more but will that really make more fathers pay and cut child poverty by 20,000? With @Gingerbread's Sarah Lambert on @Moneybox noon @BBCRadio4
📽️I realise how this probably sounds but...
...here is a whopping eight minute primer on tomorrow's spending review(!)
It is, I promise, much more interesting than you might imagine. But then I would say that wouldn't I?
Anyway, you be the judge...👇
Ahead of the Spending Review, we have joined with other organisations to urge the chancellor to make a firm commitment that the two-child limit and the benefit cap will be abolished. You can find out more or read the letter here: https://t.co/YpBkcDIGuU
The delay to the child poverty strategy is v. concerning given how urgently action is needed. But promising news that No10 looking to scrap 2 child limit. Around 50% of those affected are single parents and @Gingerbread we see its abolition as a priority https://t.co/4eei81Szvd
At the APPG on single parent families we’re hearing from academic Juliet Stone that work not necessarily a way out of poverty for single parents families. Investment in social security is essential @Gingerbread
@Alison_McGovern She also highlights that alongside the child poverty strategy there is a review of Universal Credit which will be looking at improving how it operates
