Best lecture I’ve possibly ever heard on the importance of libraries & librarians in the safeguarding of knowledge throughout history - should be required listening for school boards & city councils #proudtobealibrarian #supportlibraries #freedomtoread

I had no money growing up. My dad was a labourer and my mum did everything to make ends meet. Men worked hard. Women worked miracles. But education was free. As was the local library. I knew books were my passport to a better life. Happy #WorldBookDay

I know a guy…

Librarians need a version of the Hells Angels to show up when their books are threatened.

[Sarah Tait McLaughlin @sarahmclibrary]

@JagsFanBrian Horrifying. How how how is this ever ok??! Speechless.

[Sarah Tait McLaughlin @sarahmclibrary]

Terrifying. @ALALibrary #freedomtoread

Thanks to the parent & community push to save @sd61schools strings for gr5s this year, my daughter & I play together often. Many families can’t afford music lessons otherwise & it’s life changing for many. @SD61Learn worth saving this program every year.

@goodreads Pillars of the Earth by @KMFollett. I was 14. My mum bought me a copy in the airport and told me I’d like it. I didn’t believe her. She was right. It changed my life.

I love this idea!

[Mackin Educational Resources @MackinLibrary]

This library tells you how much you saved by borrowing! Does anyone else's library do this? 📚

@Theholisticpsyc I may be biased since we share the same last name, but @ameliargh is my favourite journalist to read and to follow. Also @OrkneyLibrary is far funnier than a library should be 😉 - wit and brains = why I love librarians. And you of course. Seriously helping millions ♥️

[Sarah Tait McLaughlin @sarahmclibrary]

@laurenTarshis I would love to get one of my school’s classes involved via the library! (middle school grade 7 or 8). What a fantastic opportunity 😀.

My first thought was: she finally read a book she DOESN’T recommend. #BookClub
