@monique_vela@jse_CSUB Good observation about math being best evaluated as a class. I wasn't familiar with Nearpod, but now I must check it out! @Edte4200
@juangarciano @jse_CSUB I can remember having to provide hard copies of my essays to be peer reviewed by hand in a college English class so long ago. Google docs would have been so much more convenient! Would have saved a lot of paper too...
@locline4 @jse_CSUB@googleearth Never thought of using Google Earth in this way. What a great way for students to experience the physical characteristics of a place that they may have never seen in person. Wonderful suggestion!
@CrystalTobiasen@jse_CSUB This is great! Through creating their own TedEd Talks, students learn a topic thoroughly while building valuable speaking and presentation skills.
@jse_CSUB Peer critique is an essential part of art class but it can be difficult to elicit productive feedback from students. Students need a clear rubric to guide evaluation of classmates' work. A rubric creator like Rubistar is a way to create printable rubrics. @Edte4200 @jse_CSUB
@jse_CSUB Students can use @Powtoon to create their own animated presentation. They start from a template and edit animations, text, live footage, etc, w/the option to upload their own voiceover. In this way they address oral, written, auditory, and visual language #EDTE4200@jse_CSUB
@J_DWright_ @Storybird@jse_CSUB Storybird looks like a great tool to entice reluctant readers and writers because it gives students the ability to illustrate and share their stories or poems. For visual learners, illustrating spelling/vocab lists might help them retain. #edte4200@jse_CSUB
@juangarciano @jse_CSUB@Newsela We chose the same resource! It seems to me that Newsela could save so much time spent trying to find appropriate articles for a classroom of diverse learners. What an asset for busy teachers!
@jse_CSUB@Newsela allows students to read the same current event articles, but it is differentiated to the reading level of individual students. Teachers can assign articles by topic, and articles include a short quiz and a writing prompt. So helpful! @jse_CSUB#edte4200
@jenniferl100@jse_CSUB I have been having fun with Google Sites as well. Good to know that I can make a website even as a technologically challenged person! #edte4200#csubted
@jse_CSUB My favorite resource is an online 3D design program called Tinkercad. It is super fun and quick to learn as well as a versatile teaching tool. I can see using it to teach creative expression in art class, but it would be equally useful in STEM.#edte4200#csubted@jse_CSUB
@jse_CSUB Hello, my name is Sarah and I have my B.A. in art from CSUB. I have experience subbing in classrooms from elementary to high school and I would be happy to teach art at any grade level! @jse_CSUB#csubted#edte4200
