NSW has new sexual assault legislation in the pipleline plus a new sex ed curriculum. V. smart books from @amiasrinivasan, @KayEngels, #maggienelson and @thequeerjane (plus @MASieghart) all helped give me new ways to ponder the pitfalls of "consent" https://t.co/WU77G9wJDc
So delighted to be on this list, and so happy that this beautiful story is reaching readers. Heartfelt thanks to
@MUPublishing & the @walkleys book judges, and warm congratulations to all the worthy contenders in whose company I'm honoured - and surprised! - to find myself.
@Helenreflects This thread is great esp the tips te books and Youtube channels. Please post more! I want to become mathematically literate so I can help my kids.
@Helenreflects I was ok at maths until about year 9 when trigonometry defeated me. I never enjoyed maths. As an adult working on a tv show about physics I became fascinated, I understood hard things, and wondered why it had been taught so boringly.
@GrogsGamut Carey’s Theft: A Love Story is partly set here. I remember a wonderful passage where Hugh tears through the streets of Potts Point. A memorable novel.
People from across Australia are coming together to say YES!

"In 2014, in the Beyond Blue survey of 1000 non-Indigenous people throughout Australia, 21% would move away if an Indigenous person sat nearby; 37% think Indigenous Australians are lazy; and 20% feel okay with racist labels for Indigenous Australians."
I'm voting Yes in the upcoming referendum. To me, Voice is a workable, modest change to our constitution that opens up a way to positive change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and for all of us who live here. Meet me in the park on Sunday! https://t.co/oRTlvzlkPT
Wikileaks: widely imitated by copycats like the New York Times and the ABC, who never defended Assange or his journalism, and treat his outrageous persecution as the normal outcome of a justice system.
