A little taste of what I've been doing whilst in NZ - using my science background to show children in schools that science is EVERYWHERE! This is just the beginning - next week we're getting the microscopes out... (wish me luck!)
Yesterday some children from the local primary school and I went on an adventure to explore the local bush. There was a LOT of excitement and a LOT of chatter so I think they enjoyed themselves..?! This is so easy to do with your children - so why not get them involved in nature?
Delighted this is finally out - our efforts to pull together decades of fragmented research on acylation of bacterial cell surface structures by AT3 proteins https://t.co/yijrRzhZpF I love Fig. 2 - is your surface structure an AT3 target?
Celebration and welcome this afternoon for L1'ers. Sara @sarahsci28, Rachel and Ollie submit their PhD theses and we welcome Abby, Josh, Abi, Max, Javeria and Imran to the floor @BiologyatYork Thnx @RuddenMichelle & Emily for the cakes @mjplevin
How do you find quadratics? Given a few coordinates on a graph, can you work out the equation? Take a look at this video to find out more... https://t.co/rQwmanjJpS
When I'm not busy in the lab I've started making youtube videos to help with GCSE maths questions - if you know anyone who might benefit please share it with them! :)

Has someone ever said this to you? We want more people to understand the real impact of gluten on people with coeliac disease. Comment and retweet to help us raise awareness.

🚨Here’s my new story about long-haulers who’ve had COVID-19 for months. I first wrote about them in early June, and much has changed since then. Notably, many are still sick. For some, it’s been 5+ months of debilitating symptoms. #LongCovid 1/ https://t.co/VnMsxPhvdW
Many thanks to @ValvanoMiguel & @JugeLab for organising @2020Faseb Learned lots about mucin & bugs, met new colleague @bandigiu & my fab student Sarah Tindall won a Presentation Prize! @BiologyatYork @BBSRCWhiteRose Still nothing like being there in person #scienceissocial
Super happy to hear that a lot of hard work by @CarolineRosePea & Sarah Tindall now accepted in @mbiojournal - just in time for Sarah to tell her story at @2020Faseb on Tuesday afternoon @BiologyatYork @BBSRCWhiteRose
@yorkshirehippie I've been doing the same. I thought they were compulsory inside but I was disappointed that I almost the only one wearing one in tescos yesterday!
