Too often, people say the abortion debate needs more “nuance.” It doesn’t. There is never a good reason to kill an unborn child. Murder is murder, no matter the circumstance.
Lindsay Clancy did not plan her children’s murders the day she did it.
She started laying the groundwork for a trial 5 months prior. How do I know? The evidence is clear if you look through a nurse’s eyes.
As an RN, the first thing we’re taught is that “if you didn’t document it, it didn’t happen” in regards to patient care. Lindsay was an L&D nurse. She heard that line in school and on every unit she ever worked.
Callan was only a few months old when she began “seeking treatment”. She told doctors she was depressed and anxious. She did not tell them she was suicidal or homicidal. She knew exactly what those words do. One statement of intent to harm herself or the kids and she is in a locked unit. If they even suspected she wanted to hurt anyone, it would have unleashed a chain reaction that would prevent her from completing her plan. She wanted freedom and she knew just what lines not to cross to reach that goal.
What she did do was write it down. Diary entries. Texts. Conversations with her husband and her mother. Thoughts of harming herself and the children. That paper trail exists for a reason. It is the documentation she knew a future jury would see.
For months the pattern held: disclose the dark thoughts to family and to a journal. Minimize or deny them to the people who could actually help.
Cycle through providers. We call that “doctor shopping” in the medical world and it’s a clear indicator of someone who wants specific medicines or is trying to avoid coordination between doctors. She KNEW the system and exactly how to use it.
Collect prescriptions. Zoloft, Prozac, Seroquel, Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, Lamictal, amitriptyline—thirteen medications, more than thirty prescriptions. A nurse knows which side effects to report to get a med changed or dose adjusted. The list itself became the evidence she wanted. We don’t know if she ever took any of them except on the day of the crime.
As a mom, if I were having actual thoughts of hurting my kids, I’d be the first one screaming it to every doctor, every nurse. I’d make sure I was locked away where I couldn’t actually hurt them. But not Lindsay. She did all she could to not be locked away.
When the Women & Infants postpartum program discharged her after one day because she didn’t fit the criteria, the calendar was not on her side. Callan was eight months old. The cleanest “postpartum psychosis” window was already gone. She had to execute sooner rather than later.
She planned it to the minute. As a nurse, she knew exactly how long it would take to strangle each child—about six minutes. She sent her husband on errands that would keep him out of the house long enough to kill all three and stage what was supposed to look like a suicide attempt.
Her medical education ensured she knew EXACTLY how deep and what direction to cut her wrists to ensure she wouldn’t bleed out. She knew EXACTLY how deep and where to cut her neck to avoid hitting the carotid arteries, the jugular veins, or compromise her airway. She even knew jumping out a 2nd story window wouldn’t be fatal but would look dramatic to a future jury. Every cut, every decision was calculated, cold, and with the medical training to execute the plan flawlessly (the injuries she sustained were a miscalculation from landing wrong, not the fall itself).
Lindsay Clancy is not a woman who “snapped with no warning.” or even one who was failed by her family and the healthcare system. She is a woman who spent months building a file and setting the stage so she could blame her crime on those very people while she could live out the childless life she dreamed of living.
Baby Gabriel’s story is extraordinary, and horrifying.
McKenna West agreed to carry a baby for a California couple. At 20 weeks, Gabriel was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a very serious congenital heart defect. The intended parents asked her to terminate the pregnancy. She refused.
The dispute then became a battle over where Gabriel would be born and who would control his medical care.
West left Alaska for Texas, saying she wanted Gabriel born where he could receive specialist treatment and where she could seek legal protection for his care. The intended parents went to court in California seeking recognition of their parentage and her return for the birth.
Texas then intervened. A judge ordered that Gabriel must receive life-sustaining treatment when he was born.
Gabriel has now been born alive. He is receiving specialist care and is due to undergo heart surgery.
His life was saved.
And yet West, the woman who carried him, refused to abort him and travelled across America fighting for him to receive treatment, is reportedly now prevented from even seeing him.
If ever there were a case exposing the brutal contradictions at the heart of surrogacy, this is it.
Before conception, everything can look tidy. There is a contract. There are intended parents. There is a surrogate. Everyone supposedly understands their role.
Then a real child exists.
The baby is diagnosed with a serious condition. The adults disagree about whether he should even be born. The woman carrying him refuses an abortion. Different courts become involved. Lawyers argue about parentage, custody and medical treatment.
And suddenly the fiction that pregnancy can be reduced to a contractual service collapses.
Britain is considering major reforms to surrogacy law, including a new pathway under which intended parents could become the legal parents from birth.
MPs should study Baby Gabriel very carefully before liberalising anything.
Who gets to decide whether a baby lives?
What rights does the woman actually carrying and giving birth to that child retain?
What happens when the wishes of the commissioning adults, the birth mother and the interests of the child all collide?
Women are not wombs for hire.
Babies are not commodities.
And motherhood cannot simply be erased because a contract says somebody else was always supposed to be the parent.
My debut @WashTimes
Three cases in the last month where a #surrogate has stepped up to save the children.
Money didn’t protect these babies. Contracts didn’t protect them. Genetics didn’t protect them. Their birth mothers did.
You cannot defend children and surrogacy. You have to pick.

@Katy_Faust@WashTimes 👏🏻My son has HLHS too & I have been following Gabriel’s story. He has literally nobody-his genetic parents want him dead & the woman who could provide comfort with her smell & voice has been legally ordered not to. It breaks my heart & is taking everything in me not to go to TX.
Even if we step back and say, fine, perhaps they were simply trying to understand the potential risks and mechanisms involved, the broader point is still horrifying. This was January 2021, a full month after the rollout of an industrial scale effort to inject this experimental product into billions of people, yet at the same time they were secretly discussing catastrophic consequences they did not understand. Just look at Biden Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s reply to Fauci, speculating about the possibility of DNA mutations in fetuses. They had absolutely no idea what this stuff might do. And then, not only did they conceal these problems, but perhaps even worse, they forced this drug on the population under threat of losing their jobs, their ability to travel, and even their freedom.
If you want to know why ridiculous conspiracy theories are so popular, it's because the media, the government, and big tech all worked together to crush reasonable dissent. And they did it in defense of lies. Alternative theories, no matter how insane, are now treated as better explanations by default — and that fact is being exploited by shameless grifters for views and clicks.
Fauci won't be remembered as a hero, or the voice of science. He'll be remembered as a fame-seeking fraud, a ruthless tyrant, a shameless liar, and a spineless coward. He may never face accountability under the law, but there's at least a little justice in that.
It’s not 2020. We’re not apologizing for speaking basic truths that hurt progressives’ feelings. Not on gender, not on sexuality, not on race, not on immigration, not on anything. Clarity is kindness. Do not back down even one centimeter on what you know is good, right, and true.
What did you think was going to happen after we legalized #GayMarriage?
That same-sex couples would finally be able to visit one another in the hospital? Inherit property? Make medical decisions? Many of those legal protections were already available through powers of attorney, contracts, and other legal arrangements.
What #Obergefell enabled was something else.
It accelerated the legal replacement of biological parenthood with intent-based parenthood.
It made it easier to detach children from their mother or father and reattach them to biological strangers so same-sex couples could be "equal" to husband-wife couples.
It conditioned an entire culture to repeat, “Love makes a family,” by threatening them with social isolation if they refused.
It permitted scrubbing “mother” and “father” from parentage laws and replacing them with "gestating" and "non-gestating" parent in the name of non-discrimination.
It made politicians afraid to defend the importance of mothers and fathers because genderless families had been upheld by the country's highest court.
The lasting legacy of #Obergefell has not simply been the redefinition of marriage. It has been the unmaking of the American family by erasing mother and father, both in law and culture.
Children deserve better. @MakeKidsGreater
If your conscience isn’t pricked by the mockery of a widow - and you find yourself enjoying it, laughing, reveling in it - you are in the darkest possible place spiritually. You’ve been given over.
A Black “comedian” put on full white face to mock a widow whose husband, and father of her two young children, was publicly assassinated.
That’s not comedy, it’s cruel and gross.
And the only reason it’s being tolerated is because she’s a white, conservative Christian. The double standard is appalling.
The six fallen warriors represent the very best of America, giving everything in service to our country. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Freedom is never free.
May God bless them, their families, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸
