महाराष्ट्र 2024 - लोकसभा और विधानसभा चुनाव के बीच अचानक 39 लाख नए वोटर जुड़ गए। मैंने तब भी कहा था, आज भी कहता हूँ: यह वोट चोरी थी।

बंगाल 2026 - SIR में जिन नामों को काटा गया, उनमें से 91% नाम अपील के बाद वापस जोड़ने पड़े। यानी हर 10 में से 9 नाम गलत तरीके से काटे गए, और नाम चुनाव के बाद ही जोड़े गए। मैंने तब भी कहा था, आज भी कहता हूँ: यह वोट चोरी थी।

और अब महाराष्ट्र में 2.07 करोड़ मतदाताओं को ड्राफ्ट लिस्ट से बाहर कर दिया गया है - यानी हर पांचवां वोटर।

लोक सभा 2024: 9.29 करोड़
विधान सभा 2024: 9.7 करोड़
SIR 2026: 7.78 करोड़
कौन सी लिस्ट सही थी?

वोट चोरी से बनी सरकार के लिए जनता ज़रूरी नहीं है - यही कारण है कि ये BJP न जनता की सुनती है, न उनका आदेश मानती है।

रेलमंत्री रहे लालू यादव का दावा है की उनके कार्यकाल में रेलवे मुनाफे में थी.इस फर्जी दावे का पर्दाफाश किया था जब ममता बनर्जी रेलमंत्री बनी थीं.

ममता बनर्जी रेलमंत्री बनी तब उन्होंने लालू के कार्यकाल का श्वेत पत्र जारी किया था जिसमे कई चौकाने वाले खुलासे थे.

1- सभी ट्रेनों मे तत्काल कोटा 10% से बढाकर 60% कर दिया गया .जिससे मजबूरी मे लोगो को तत्काल टिकट लेना पड़ा .और असली किराये से 1234% ज्यादा रेल ने वसूला.

2- तत्काल मे ये नियम बना दिया गया कि यात्री को जहां से ट्रेन चलती है और जहां तक चलती है वहा का ही टिकट मिलेगा . भले ही यात्री को बीच में बैठना पड़े और बीच के ही किसी स्टेशन पर उतरना पड़े.

इससे रेल ने लोगो को खूब लुटा

3- तत्काल फ़ीस 350 रूपये कर दी गयी जो पहले 50 थी फिर 150 हुयी फिर सीधे 350 हों गयी.

4- लालू प्रसाद यादव ने ही नियम बनाया था तत्काल टिकट कैसल करवाने पर रेल कोई भी रिफंड नहीं देगी

5- चुपके से यात्रियो पर सेफ्टी सरचार्ज थोप दिया गया जो जनरल मे 10 स्लीपर मे 20 एसी मे 40 रूपये था

6- लालू ने 220 ट्रेनों को कागजो मे सुपरफास्ट का दर्जा दे दिया . लेकिन उनके स्टापेज मे कोई बदलाव नही किया .. इससे सिर्फ एक ट्रेन से ही एक महीने मे 50 करोड रूपये ज्यादा वसूले गए

7- मालभाडा मे लालू ने एक नियम बनाया था कि किसी भी वैगन का फूललोड का ही भाडा वसूला जायेगा .. और वो भी 68 टन का

लेकिन मजे की बात ये है की एक वैगन की अधिकतम छमता सिर्फ 64 टन ही होती है और रेल 60 टन से ज्यादा एक वैगन मे लोड नही कर सकती |

8- रिजर्वेशन चार्ज पहले पूरे भारत मे आप कही से भी कही का टिकट लो तो समान होता था लेकिन लालू से इसमें भी लुटा ..

अगर आप अहमदाबाद से दिल्ली की रिर्टन टिकट ले और आप दोनों टिकट का अमाउंट देखे तो आपको माजरा समझ मे आ जायेगा .. स्लीपर मे २० एसी मे 40 और राजधानी मे 60 रूपये ज्यादा वसूले जाते है .. और यह नियम लालू यादव ने ही बनाया था

9- लालू के समय में पूरे भारत में रेलवे के स्क्रेप को बड़े पैमाने पर बेचा गया जिससे कई सौ करोड रुपए मिले और उसे लालू ने रेलवे के मुनाफे में जोड़ दिया

और रेलवे की कई जमीनों को लीज पर दिया और उससे आए पैसे को भी लालू ने मुनाफे में जोड़ दिया

कांग्रेसी और लालू मुलायम इसी तरह देश की जनता को लुटते थे और देश को गुमराह करते थे.

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ को खत्म करने की सौगंध खाने वाले कामरेड आज ख़ुद ख़त्म हो गए।
मोदी और शाह ने वामपंथ पोषित नक्सलवाद को समाज से और नक्सलवाद से सत्ता की यात्रा तय करने वाले वामपंथ को देश की राजनीति से मुक्त कर दिया है।
वामपंथ का शोकगीत लिख दिया गया है।
संघ को मिट्टी में मिलाने की कसम खाने वाला वामपंथ ख़ुद मिट्टी में दफन हो गया है।

The data tells a story that cannot be ignored.

In Phase 2 of the West Bengal elections, the absolute increase in voter turnout was 11.9%, translating to an additional 9.43 lakh votes in 2026. Across both phases, the total incremental turnout stood at 30,14,086.

For years, Muslim voters have largely consolidated behind the Trinamool Congress. Which makes the surge in incremental turnout significant, it points to a large consolidation of Hindu voters, and a clear shift against Mamata Banerjee.

This election cycle also saw efforts to clean up voter rolls, including the removal of fake, duplicate, and ineligible entries. Combined with higher participation, this points to a more credible and representative mandate.

The backdrop to this election has been deeply concerning, recurring communal tensions in regions like Malda and Murshidabad, the exodus of Hindus from pockets of the state, distressing incidents such as Sandeshkhali, and the horrific rape and murder at RG Kar. These are not isolated events; they have shaped public sentiment over time.

What this election represents is a response, people voting in larger numbers, without fear, to demand accountability, safety, and dignity.

As results approach on 4th May, the message from the ground is clear: voters want change, stability, and a restoration of trust in governance.

It was 2016 when I first walked into the Times of India office on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg—just an intern then, carrying more hope than certainty. It was the time of demonetisation, the newsroom alive with urgency, and I gave it everything I had. In 27 working days, I somehow managed 35 bylines on the Delhi city pages—each one a small victory, each one a quiet promise to myself.
But what I carry most from those days are not the bylines. It is the people.
Among them was Kingshuk Mukherjee—who listened. Truly listened. To every story idea, every half-formed thought. I still remember one particular class at the journalism school—just 50 minutes long—where he spoke of my stories as if they mattered. As if I mattered.
Life, as it does, took its own turns. I could not return to join TOI. And then, too soon, in 2017, he was gone. Just like that. Yet his number still sits in my phone, saved not as a contact, but as “mentor”—a quiet refusal to let go.
Today, as my op-ed appears on the edit page of The Times of India, I find myself going back to that newsroom, to that class, to that voice that believed before the world did.
This is, in some small way, for him.

A STRUCTURAL RESHAPING OF THE ELECTORATE IN BENGAL

Read 9 TAKEAWAYS on the massive clean-up which is near completion:

1. Out of 60,06,675 complaints, 59,84,512 have been resolved over 99.6% disposal, leaving just 22,163 cases pending. The voter list is effectively locked.
2. High invalidation rate raises red flags:
Of resolved cases, 27,16,393 voters (45%) have been marked invalid, versus 32,68,119 valid voters. That is an unusually high rejection ratio with clear political consequences.
3. Re-entry window remains open:
All 27.1 lakh invalid voters retain the right to approach tribunals again, meaning this is not a final purge but a temporary exclusion that could still shift numbers later.
4. Murshidabad emerges as ground zero:

Districts like Cooch Behar, North 24 Parganas, and South 24 Parganas all politically sensitive and demographically complex show large-scale deletions, pointing to targeted verification drives.
6. North & South 24 Parganas see major impact:
North 24 Parganas: 3,25,666 invalid voters
South 24 Parganas: 2,22,929 invalid voters
These are high-density electoral zones where even small percentage swings can flip seats.
7. Purba Bardhaman crosses 2 lakh deletions:
More than 2,00,000 voters marked invalid significant for a district that often plays a swing role in close contests.
8. Nadia shows highest proportional purge:
In Nadia, 208,626 out of 267,940 cases (78%) have been marked invalid the highest rejection rate in percentage terms. This suggests aggressive scrutiny.
9. Cooch Behar crosses 45% invalidation rate
Over 45% of adjudicated voters declared invalid one of the sharpest ratios, potentially reshaping outcomes in a politically competitive district.
