Just a wild case - Parotid FNA in a patient with a recent history of H&N squamous cell carcinoma. Cytomorphology as shown here (spindled cells with long cytoplasmic tails and melanophages), is consistent with "Malignant Melanoma". IHCs on the cell block confirmed the dx. Primary salivary gland melanoma is exceedingly rare (< 0.7% of all salivary gland malignancies). A careful investigation will be needed in this case to exclude mets to the parotid. (ThinPrep)
