मेरठ में ललिता गौतम को न्याय दिलाने की मांग को लेकर शांतिपूर्ण धरना प्रदर्शन कर रहे लोगों के साथ पुलिस द्वारा कथित रूप से दुर्व्यवहार और मारपीट की घटना बेहद चिंताजनक है।

भारत के संविधान का अनुच्छेद 19 प्रत्येक नागरिक को शांतिपूर्ण और अहिंसक तरीके से अपनी बात रखने तथा विरोध दर्ज कराने का मौलिक अधिकार प्रदान करता है। यदि शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शन कर रहे लोगों के साथ बल प्रयोग किया गया तो इसकी निष्पक्ष और पारदर्शी जाँच होनी चाहिए। तथा दोषी अधिकारियों के विरुद्ध उचित कार्यवाही की जानी चाहिए।

यदि पुलिस हिरासत में बैठे व्यक्ति के साथ भी कथित मारपीट होती है, तो यह कानून के शासन, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों और संविधान की भावना पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करता है।

हम उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार से मांग करते हैं कि इस पूरे प्रकरण की निष्पक्ष जांच कराई जाए और SSP अविनाश पांडे ने जो कृत्य किया है उनके विरुद्ध कानून के अनुसार कठोर कार्रवाई की जाए।

संविधान ने हमें न्याय मांगने, शांतिपूर्ण विरोध करने और अपनी बात रखने का अधिकार दिया है। इन अधिकारों की रक्षा होना ही लोकतंत्र की असली पहचान है।

During the Kargil War, Captain Vikram Batra led his company in the successful capture of Point 5140, where he displayed exceptional courage by neutralising four enemy soldiers in hand-to-hand combat.

In the subsequent assault on Point 4875, he led from the front despite intense enemy fire, eliminated five enemy soldiers at point-blank range and continued to inspire his troops even after sustaining grievous injuries, leading to the capture of the objective.

For his most conspicuous bravery, indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, #PVC.
