BREAKING: Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett just delivered the strongest defense of President Biden I’ve seen today. Retweet this so every American sees this powerful clip. https://t.co/JDRqn081qN
“I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. I know how to do this job.”
Exactly the right message.
I love Joe Biden. I know he’s a good man. I know his heart is good. I know he’s dedicated to our country and is surrounded by good people. Tonight was heartbreaking in many ways. This is a big political moment. There’s panic in the Democratic party. It’s going to be a long night.
Crockett: What we saw was someone who sat up there and acting like as if he was some used car salesman that wanted to tell us whatever and pretend as if it was fact
Trump continues to lie about our immigrant communities. Crime rates are at historic lows, and studies confirm immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than US citizens.
Trump’s rhetoric blames immigrants, creating a vile trope that emboldens white supremacists. #Debates2024
So they allowed Jen Aydin to continue to film 🎥 after physically assaulting a cast member yet Kenya Moore whom never physically assaulted a cast member is suspended indefinitely over public photos? 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 Make it make sense. #RHONJ#RHOA#JusticeForKenya
I AM NOT advocating for Kenya to get NO punishment. I haven’t seen what actually happened so I can’t say what type of punishment is warranted. What I AM saying is White and light-skinned housewives go UNSCATHED for doing MUCH WORSE! #RHOA#RHOP#RHOBH#RHONJ
So I just watched that white lady hit that other white lady in the face with a glass cup on #RHONJ AND THEY AIRED IT!
but they fire @KenyaMoore for showing a picture on #RHOA!?? @BravoTV is racist af. Smh.
Like @TherealCANDIACE said “the line is always MOVING” 😒
5-year-old Londyn from Texas pulls up as a barrel racer! She and her horse Monkey had an impressive 18-second run at Jacksonville’s Black Rodeo USA You go girl!
This is culture.
Reggie Jackson just got banned from mention in Florida schools.
Only when you ignore or try to rewrite the history, can you say that the playing field was level and that black Americans couldn’t compete or that the difficulties that many face are entirely of their own making. The historical boot on the neck was to insure that the slave-descendant (specifically!!) remained at the bottom of society. We see the consequences to this day, which have weakened certain communities and America, as a whole. But many Americans would have the legacy of racist discrimination be stronger than our country.
“Still, I rise.”
Remember, Reggie Jackson played 1967-1987. He isn't talking about Jim Crow America. He's talking about POST Jim Crow America.
His time wasn't "another time." It's here & now. And MAGAs are criminalizing even talking about it. Only reason you'd do that is so you can repeat it.
I was not planning to vote for Biden because his administration has failed and harmed many people in many ways, but John Oliver’s recent episode on Trump and Project 2025 has me convinced that not voting for Biden could be incredibly dangerous.
I wish we had better options, but I’m not sure we do, and it’s a crappy feeling to think that the best we can do is vote for the lesser of two evils.
“The year before I got here, the klan murdered 4 Black girls, children, here at a church, and never got indicted. Life magazine did a story on them like they were being honored. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.” -Reggie Jackson at Rickwood Field
I need y'all to understand something:
This isn't Willie Mays.
This isn't Satchel Paige.
This isn't Josh Gibson.
This is REGGIE JACKSON. HE PLAYED WHEN I WAS A KID in the 70s and 80s.
THIS. IS. RECENT.
“I’m a middle-aged Black man. I’ve got all of these degrees, I’ve won cases at the Supreme Court – and I still go to places where I’m viewed as less than, where I’m presumed to be the defendant, or presumed to be dangerous, just because of the way I appear. And that’s a heavy burden,” says lawyer and racial justice advocate Bryan Stevenson.
“I can tell you, because I’m getting older, that when you’re constantly navigating these presumptions of dangerousness and guilt, it’s exhausting.”
Willie Mays wasn’t just a singular athlete, blessed with an unmatched combination of grace, skill and power. He was also a wonderfully warm and generous person - and an inspiration to an entire generation. I’m lucky to have spent time with him over the years, and Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family.
