@jonharrop @jordwalke @H2CO3_iOS @1101_debian shared_ptrs are good for passing around references to long-lived objects. They aren't suitable for high alloc rates. So, it is not apples-to-apples.

For symbolic computation in C++ I would use memory arena with bulk alloc/dealloc, or, say, memory pool + custom ref counting.

@iLemming @backendsecret Ну он это все про pattern matching применительно к clojure (lisp) говорит. Конечно особого смысла в нем там нет, т.к. exhaustiveness не реализовать.

Причём он говорит о потере имён и матчинге только по типу, что не везде так.

@backendsecret Нужна статическая типизация хорошая. Компилятор проверяет, что в коде обрабатываются все возможные ветки и гарантирует, что это так. При рефакторинге крайне удобно. Добавил новый вариант, поменял тип и т.п. После этого исправил все места с ошибками компиляции и все.
