@Vaporisor @SmoothO68233231 @DrivingMissDai5 @diana12039997 @mrdannyglover@UniforTheUnion @JerryPDias Doubt very much anyone has actually got past the final number. Everyone is so wrapped up in profit and greed to even consider 1 of the 100's of plausible scenarios that are far worse. Get in the know, ask questions, and be your own voice.
For anyone who honestly believes this a @CoopRefinery greed play... GE 2019 gross profit $120.75B and https://t.co/6eF5iGXXZc #underfunded. Profit and debt aren't simple + and - 's. Gotta think about the future of this pension pragmatically and have a voice. #notGreed
@Vaporisor @SmoothO68233231 @DrivingMissDai5 @diana12039997 @mrdannyglover@UniforTheUnion @JerryPDias Not at 100% there isn't. This is a #realRisk vs. #perceivedRisk game at this point. 700+ workers believe it's perceived risk and only time will tell. 3, 5, 10 years from now when energy changes affect profit negatively (plus giving 67% back to local) it will become #realRisk
@ChoppaFcl @diana12039997 @SmoothO68233231 @Vaporisor@mrdannyglover@UniforTheUnion @JerryPDias ..and everyone gets why DB is the most effective way to save but the #risk is real. Assuming there is some truth, @CoopFCL has been propping up that fund – how long will that last before the next offer is .... #freeze the DB https://t.co/VZ2ycoQTJJ
@houndsmakesense @Chrisatunifor More references to Sears and anyone on this list https://t.co/OaLJ0RfabW – as it's a real possibility. Pension security is not as simple as putting money in a jar under a mattress. History is just catching up to us where we finally see the pros and cons of a DB over 50 years.
@syd_gos Can we meet in the middle? 😉 There is no arguing this is about the cost attributed to the future through pensions or the @CoopRefinery operations/growth. 100% isn't an option so someone better start gettin' creative. P.S. It's not greed
@syd_gos@CoopRefinery Yes. But. Old article. 2019 – $959M profit minus $649M back to local Co-op's plus $237M invested back at @CoopRefinery. Try this one: https://t.co/1XsJTRtsDD
@syd_gos@CoopRefinery So much more to the numbers https://t.co/FT1X9aH2Wx. Your 1.4B in profits does not factor in the 67.7% ($649M) given back to local co-op members or the amount used in refinery upgrades... It's so much more than greed everyone thinks it is.
Tough. Community safety compromised by @Unifor594 "Illegal blockade" and @reginapolice action limited by fear of escalation and presence of children. This decision to not intervene might be the correct one but...
@syd_gos@CoopRefinery That is the comparison everyone has wanted to see since day 1. However, as much as the difference might be obvious, the answer to this is finding a DC version that keeps the numbers as close as possible – or something between similar to target-benefits. 100% isn't gonna fly.
@Canad_IANism@twosmokesforbe1@CoopRefinery@Unifor594 Very creative thinking! 👏 This #pensioncrisis (being dramatic) is not new. Here's a list of greedy companies that addressed this very thing. Freezing a DB is also a possibility. It's about doing something – whatever that is. https://t.co/OaLJ0RfabW
