"It's hard to overstate the importance of rail to our economy and to our collective future."
@USAmbCanada, David L. Cohen delivered an excellent keynote address, highlighting rail as the backbone of U.S.-Canada trade, tourism, and economic growth. We were thrilled to see him engage with our tradeshow, taking the time to connect with members and associate members to learn more about their work. #RailCAN24
Trade isn’t optional for Canadian farmers – 90% rely on it to make their living. Bill C-282, An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act (supply management), seeks to exclude supply management sectors from Canada’s future trade agreements and in the renewal of current agreements, like CUSMA, potentially cutting off or complicating essential market access.
Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA) and its members express serious concern with Bill C-282 and its unprecedented constraints on Canada’s trade negotiators in our export-driven economy. CAFTA is running a click-and-submit campaign urging the Senate to reject Bill C-282 or amend it to prevent significant harm to Canada's economic interests.
