Today marks a big milestone toward the rebirth of supersonic passenger flight. For the first time in decades, a civil supersonic airplane has taken to the skies. The @boomsupersonic XB-1 met all of its first flight objectives—and we’re only going further, higher, and faster from here.
We’ve entered into a strategic partnership with the @usairforce — valued at up to $60 million — to accelerate research and development on Overture, our commercial airliner. #Supersonic https://t.co/AeXtsZJhAC 1/5
Today @united ordered 15 (and up to 50) @boomsupersonic Overture aircraft. They’re going to run on 100% sustainable aviation fuel.
It’s a big day for supersonic flight. #UnitedGoesSupersonic

It's called a "shakedown," but XB-1's nose landing gear tests apply weight, not shakes and shudders. Successfully completed last month, the tests place extreme weight on the nose landing gear to ensure it can withstand the impact of landings and keep our pilots safe.
XB-1’s wings are ready to soar.
We've successfully installed the wings on XB-1, our supersonic demonstrator. Here, the team positions the 725-pound wings into place, making them look as light as air. #aerospace

Mission accomplished! Last month, XB-1 passed its wing bend tests with flying colors. The tests prove that the wings can take 100% of the load they will experience in flight, even in extreme conditions. Learn more: https://t.co/QyyAxNjIfm #aerospace
