Investigative Journalism: Journalism That Holds Power Accountable
Investigative journalism is not about reporting what people say.
It is about proving what powerful people don't want the public to know.
It is a disciplined form of journalism in which reporters independently uncover facts that governments, politicians, corporations, criminal networks, or influential individuals may be attempting to conceal.
Unlike routine news reporting, investigative journalism does not stop at official press releases, political speeches, or social media claims.
It asks one question:
"Where is the evidence?"
An investigative journalist follows documents—not narratives.
Evidence—not assumptions.
Facts—not propaganda.
The objective is not to support or oppose any political party, government, corporation, or ideology.
The objective is to uncover the truth in the public interest.
The Five Pillars of Investigative Journalism
1. Evidence Before Opinion
Every allegation must be supported by verifiable evidence.
This includes:
RTI (Right to Information) documents
Court records and judgments
CAG audit reports
Government tenders
Financial statements
Bank records (where legally available)
Company filings
Property and land records
Procurement documents
Digital forensic evidence
Videos and photographs
Witness testimony
If it cannot be proved, it should not be published.
2. Independent Verification
A single source is never enough.
Every important fact should be verified through multiple independent sources.
Professional investigative journalists assume every document and every source could be incomplete or misleading until verified.

Every arrest is being called an attack on democracy.
But the question many are asking is...

Why was silence acceptable then...

Freedom of expression cannot have two yardsticks.

Election Commission's Statement on By-Elections to the 7 Vacant Assembly Constituencies in Tamil Nadu
The Election Commission has stated that all seven vacant Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu are under its consideration.
However, no date has been finalized for conducting the by-elections.
The notification for the by-elections will be issued only after the pending legal (court) matters and necessary administrative procedures have been completed.
In particular, the Election Commission said that the Madras High Court has issued interim stay orders in respect of certain constituencies, and therefore, the by-election notification can be issued only after those legal restrictions are lifted.
In Summary
"By-elections will be conducted for all seven vacant constituencies. However, the election schedule will be announced only after the pending court cases are resolved and the legal hurdles are cleared," the Election Commission clarified.

பின்னர் இந்த நிலம் இரு தனிநபர்களின் பெயரில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.
