"Though Mr. Khamenei was gravely wounded, he is mentally sharp and engaged, according to four senior Iranian officials familiar with his health. One leg was operated on three times, and he is awaiting a prosthetic. He had surgery on one hand and is slowly regaining function. His face and lips have been burned severely, making it difficult for him to speak, the officials said, adding that, eventually, he will need plastic surgery" - NYT
i'm not satoshi, but I was early in laser focus on the positive societal implications of cryptography, online privacy and electronic cash, hence my ~1992 onwards active interest in applied research on ecash, privacy tech on cypherpunks list which led to hashcash and other ideas.
Dubai has a reputation of making people 'soft' but I've found its residents to be more resilient than many would assume.
Nobody LIKES having 1,500+ missiles & drones lobbed at them, yet life goes on and people look out for each other.
I doubt most cities would handle this well.
@LoooookDunphy@tiberiusfiles Heβs prob apologising because UAE has threatened them to freeze their assets which is their only path to the global financial system.
They are still sending drones btwβ¦ never donβt trust terrorists
@JacobKinge@LauraLoomer I need to disagree
After almost two years in Dubai I can say that Islam doesnβt destroy anything
Bad leaders with bad agendas do
North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba arenβt islamists
Iβm not very nationalist
Iβve lived in many different countries and hold different nationalities
But in less than two years the UAE has won my heart and respect
Not only because of Taxes
The mindset of people that live here
The government
Exceeds expectations
