@teeworry@BabajiSutar3 M A K Pataudi was the first-ever deposed Indian captain to be recalled to lead the side. If I remember correctly, he also shone with the bat scoring 70 runs!
'O Chennai' pales in comparison to what happened in God's own country' which also went to polls the same day as Tamilnadu. Congress led United Democratic Party won. Lo and behold, the Congress High Command took 10 days to tell the country as to who will be the Chief Minister!
While watching/reading the events happening in Tamilnadu Post-2026 Elections, the phrase 'O Jerusalem' crossed my mind. Can't tell why. But, that seemed apt to me!! So, 'O Chennai'.
A lull. A lovely one at that,! Spending quality time with my grandchildren. The younger ones will travel to their place in the US in a week's time and older one will pursue his studies (in a residential school) elsewhere in our state. Limited interaction with them henceforth.
I'm just back from an invigorating visit to University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur. Facilitated an organisation of a 2-day Workshop on "Scientific Writing and Publication Skills for Academicians" there. Good to catch up with the latest developments worldwide on the theme.
@alphafox You can't eat the Ragi Mudde with a spoon: even small round bits of them are removed (from the ball that is served) with fingers wet with curry and the bits are treated with a sambar film before they are swallowed. Not chewed: they stick to the teeth!
@alphafox The round structure is a popular and nutritious dish 'Ragi Ball' ('Ragi Mudde', as it is called in Kannada language). Ragi is a millet (scientifically Elusine coracana) rich in calcium: it is grown largely in southern Karnataka and in Tamil Nadu of India. Eaten with Sambar curry.
