Thread of threads: I thought that this would be nice way to hold on to multiple emotional outpouring that I had on Twitter.
And for the obvious reasons, making this pinned tweet.
It is true that some Hindu land owners do trade land as a result of prevailing militancy, but that is not the reason why Punjab doesn't have too many Hindu Jats.
Jats have openness to religion which allows them to adjust to any majority conveniently - be it Sikh, Hindu or Muslim
I was surprised to see the disproportion between Sikh “Jatt” population as compared to Hindu “Jat” population in Punjab
Is it true during the Sikh militancy Hindu landowners were told to leave Punjab at gun point and had to sell their land for pennies ?
Jatts / Jats are traditional landowners / farmers
✓ In my college in Punjab there are around 10% muslim students - mostly from migrant workers but some from Malerkotla also.
✓ Malerkotla students are just like the average Punjabi student - somewhat non-serious. The quality of migrant muslim students is improving every year.
Muslim voters no longer matter to BJP. Only a new Hindu-led coalition can challenge Modi-Shah

The real contribution of 2 great revealed religions - Islam & Christianity- is the freedom they gave to followers from genetic bound.
The classical world & old religions were more genetic in nature. Revealed religions focused more on human & social institutions & less on genetics
Parsis maintain very high levels of genetic homogeneity and homozygosity due to strict, long-term endogamy (marrying within the community), making them one of the world's most genetically isolated populations.
