Neither the Meiteis nor the Kukis have enjoyed their right to life and freedom, including the freedom of movement due to the ongoing manufactured crisis for more than two years now. There is nothing constitutional about this. The state has failed to ensure that people enjoy their fundamental rights.
Thus, despite many CSOs, led by the Meiteis, have already appealed and prepared to receive the dead bodies of our two young women, airhostesses, in Imphal, due to the prevailing condition, the family of one of the two young women (Late) Ms. Lumnunthiem has decided to bring her dead body to Manipur via Dimapur (airport). As of now, (Late) Ms. Nganthoi's body is yet to be identified, let alone bring home for cremation.
There has been some miscommunication on X regarding this development. I have already communicated to the concerned colleagues to do the needful - to take down the post or correct the mistakes.
Let's stand with the family members of, not only our two young women whose promising lives have been tragically cut short but also all those who have lost their precious lives in this plane tragedy.
The country is blessed that we have a national leader like our LoP who cares for the suffering people of Manipur, a state which has not only been abandoned like a foresaken place but also subjected to such a humiliation for two years by the present dispensation as if our lives don't matter...
Had the violent crisis been there in states like UP, Bihar, Maharashtra etc, the so-called "mainland", it wouldn't have allowed it to linger on for even a month, let alone for two years!
Happy Birthday! Many many happy returns of the day. May you serve the people the way you do always!
And thank you for showing that the Manipur crisis is a "national" issue, not some alien or local events!
“reminder about the importance of maintaining buffer zones to reduce tension and protect all communities”
What buffer zone? All of Manipur should be accessible to all Manipuris..who the heck are you to create buffer zone? You have Chin State & Mizoram..go there & buffer yourself
To all the frustrated and desperate propagandist elements with narco-terrorist links operating from the eastern frontiers of India under the guise of immigrants, your tireless efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. We are hoping, the govt of India will now take care of our eastern frontier as the way they have done along the western frontier under Operation Sindoor!
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
The President’s Rule (PR) administration in Manipur has compromised national integrity and succumbed to open terrorist threats issued by KSO DELHI & NCR President Paojakhup Guite.
Today, under the watch of the so-called “neutral” PR administration, the state machinery failed even to defend the very name of our land “MANIPUR.” This is not just an administrative failure. It is a complete collapse of will, responsibility, and constitutional duty.
We, the people, have tolerated enough betrayal, enough inaction, and enough surrender to terror.
THE PR ADMINISTRATION MUST STEP DOWN IMMEDIATELY.
It is time to rise. Let us unite in a decisive campaign against the incompetent and compromised PR regime that has allowed our homeland to bleed, our identity to be questioned, and our voices to be silenced.
JOIN US. STAND FOR MANIPUR. STAND FOR TRUTH. STAND FOR JUSTICE.
Saikul in Manipur has been under the effective control of the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), an armed group that has received financial support from the Government of India since 2008 under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement. Far from promoting peace, this state-sponsored funding has allowed the KRA to expand poppy cultivation and facilitate the settlement of illegal immigrants from Myanmar, transforming the region into a hub of narco-terrorism and demographic engineering.
The situation worsened when the wife of the KRA Chairman was elected as MLA from Saikul in the last election under a newly formed political outfit, the Kuki People’s Alliance. This marks a dangerous precedent where the Indian state, instead of dismantling such groups, is actively enabling their political legitimization, turning militants into lawmakers and narco-networks into power centres. It is a grave betrayal of democratic principles and a threat to the region’s stability.
Don’t confuse: Congress initiated in 2008 and BJP accelerating today!

It’s appalling to see prominent politicians and officials, as well as some members of the intelligentsia in this country, openly expressing racist and colonial views on the 22-month-old crisis in Manipur!
Community estrangement or communal violent clashes are not essential characteristics of the people in India’s Northeast, nor are such phenomena confined only to the region. Just as communalism and communal riots in South Asia are, these are aspects or byproducts of the processes of the then (British) colonial state — its epistemes/worldviews and practices, including institutionalized ones — which have been replicated in the postcolonial Republic. Many of the so-called “ethnic conflicts” in the region are byproducts of how the postcolonial state has dealt with the “nationality question” in the Region, including its counter-insurgency measures!
To say that the violent crisis in Manipur has been there for 75 years and will take time is nothing but essentializing the issue, an open revelation of the blind spots induced by a racist and colonial outlook. To use such obnoxious rationalization to cover up the utter failure of the State to rein in the violence, or tacitly allowing people to challenge the State’s defining “monopoly” (authority) to deploy “legitimate use of physical force” and abdication of its Constitutionally mandated responsibility to protect the life and property, and liberty, including freedom of movement etc. is all the more detestable.
It ought to be remembered that this country was born marked by colossal communal violence — millions have died and been uprooted from their homes, and women have been assaulted…Before that epochal violence, mistrust between communities was not unheard of, and numerous violent communal clashes had also taken place, particularly between 1923-26, incidentally a decade that witnessed the birth of various communal organizations.
For that matter, check the chronology of the communal clashes during the postcolonial period as well — 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010…In which decade did you not see communal clashes in this country? The 2020s are not free from such communal clashes; In fact, reports tell us that there has been an increase in such clashes in 2024 itself!
Did you ever explain away these violences as “It’s been there for 75 years…” etc.?
Please come out of that debilitating racist and colonial outlook, admit the mistakes, and take responsibility. Let's move ahead; We all must work together to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur. For heaven’s sake, we are in the third decade of the 21st century!

Let alone the ordinary citizens, the Legislature, the Executive and the Judiciary, all seem to have surrendered their right to freedom of movement to the diktats of a communally founded politics in Manipur!
𝐈𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫’𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 (𝐇𝐀𝐂) 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬’ 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.
Who is Alfred, the Manipur MP who 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝟑𝟕𝟏𝐂 to demand a separate Budget for Manipur Hills in the Parliament? He was an MLA in the previous Manipur Assembly but was defeated in the election for the current Manipur Assembly. His MP constituency includes 8 Meitei inhabited valley assembly constituencies. It is considered that the votes of these 8 Meitei constituencies were pivotal for his win, thanks to @INCManipur for their successful campaign exploiting the crisis.
𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝟑𝟕𝟏𝐂:
👉It mandates the Manipur Assembly to create HAC consisting of hill MLAs to oversee matters related to the hill area.
👉The HAC has the power to review and recommend policies on matters affecting the hill areas, especially regarding customary laws, land, and resources.
👉The Governor of Manipur has a special responsibility to ensure the proper administration of these hill areas and must report to the President on related issues.
So it is the responsibility of the HAC to advise on policies and audit if the Manipur government is functioning as per their recommendations, if not they can bring the matter to the president via the governor.
👉 Section (5) of 371C explicitly stated that the HAC shall endeavor to:
1. 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬, particularly by promoting the 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 of these areas.
2. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 between the people of the Hill Areas and those in other parts of the state by ensuring 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, thereby contributing to the overall augmentation of the state's resources.
Thus Article 371C is to foster 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 within Manipur, not to divide as spuriously demanded by divisive forces like MP Alfred!

As a civilian, I expected "the government and soldiers would stop the violence within 47-72 hrs."
But, they did not.
I want to point out many important events you missed in your article.
Security forces stood as mute spectators, while Kuki militants launched coordinated attacks on multiple Meitei villages.
Assam Rifles and Indian Army would block Manipur Police Personnels from entering Meitei villages under attack by Kuki Militants.
Chief of Army Staff and former DG of Assam Rifles would lie in National Media by stating that "Drone bombings on Meitei villages by Kuki Militants did not happen."
Union Home Minister once said in Parliament, "CM Biren is cooperating."
I quote MP Bimol Akoijam, "What does he mean by 'cooperating'?" "Jo kahega wohi karega."
With the imposition of Article 355 in Manipur from 4th May 2023, law and order was under Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh.
Neither State nor Center gave any clarify.
As we look back and connect the series of events in Manipur, it's very obvious. "The inactions were the actions of the Government in both state and center."
As we see today, former CM Biren is being made scapegoat of Manipur Violence. And soon, BJP leadership in Center will take all credits for restoring peace in Manipur.
Masterstroke!!!
In the recent past, many people particularly ex-army officers, started giving ‘lectures’ on the history of Manipur! Some even try to directly link the current crisis to Manipur’s decades old insurgency problem, which is not true.
One needs to understand a brief history of Manipur to know the root causes of its insurgency. With that in mind, this tweet is a compilation of sub-tweets with the following titles.
👉 Brief account of Manipur, the old Asiatic Kingdom.
👉 The Kabow Valley Saga
👉 Manipur Merger with India

No wonder retired Indian Army officers, including this Brad, have suddenly become India’s last surviving “historians.” of South Asia region. It’s almost amusing how military people, with their battlefield mentality, now claim expertise in historical narration. Real historians must be having a good laugh watching these self-appointed experts twist complex historical events. Kamaal hain bhai..!
What more astonishing is that the Kuki Separatist Elements are enjoying the narration and sharing it😇😅

*NIA Reveals Names of Key Suppliers Behind September 2024 Manipur Drone Bombing*
*The National Investigation Agency has made a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigations into the Koutruk-Kadangband drone bombing that took place on September 1, 2024.*
*The investigations have revealed that drones allegedly used in the bombings were procured from suppliers in Delhi and Haryana.*
*The NIA informed the Special Court (NIA), Manipur, that drones and accessories used in the attack were procured through a certain
Khaigoulen Kipgen alias David
from different sources, including Mayank Sharma from New Delhi and Vikram Chaudhary from Haryana.*
Let’s ask the Retd. DGAR and the Chief of Army who rejected drone bombing in Imphal West once again, are they still sure of their statements? NIA must investigate further more of all possible suspects.@NIA_India Thank you for your truthful and non-biased and non-political investigation.
