Muizzu lied during his first interview on @AJEnglish@AJENews
It was the first time that Indian humanitarian officials were portrayed as military troops in the Maldives. To clarify, "troops" refer to a significant number of armed soldiers. The country did not have any foreign armed troops, and such accusations had never been made before. They were previously referred to as "India Sifain."
Muizzu claimed not to know the number of Indian soldiers in the Maldives. However, the agreement for the first helicopter and its pilots had been renewed for the third time by the PPM government in 2013. The second helicopter and its occupants were brought in by the PPM government in 2016, who also requested a Dornier aircraft and its pilots.
So, the number of Indians deployed by the PPM government to operate helicopters would not be confusing to a cabinet minister (Muizzu) in that government!
The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) disclosed the number of Indian soldiers in the Maldives on November 12, 2021, at the Parliament.
The spokesperson for Muizzu also mentioned this detail on his Twitter.
We also know another cruel leader who can lie on TV like this in front of millions of people around the world!
