The weapons used by the ITBP are 50-years old and modernisation is required, said ITBP D-G Shatrujeet Kapur, who is set to retire on October 31. Stressing on the need to invest and develop drone and counter-drone technology, the ITBP chief said that it may not be possible to face China through traditional methods as it has invested a lot in the modernisation of its weapons and infrastructure.
“Drones are something through which a even a small country can challenge a big country We saw how Ukraine has challenged a superpower like Russia. The war was supposed to be over in few days, but 10,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers are being killed, they are suffering. Look at Iran, how, without even a Navy, they, with the help of drones, challenged America,” he said.

For Andhbhakts, a snap shot of #VibrantGujarat.
Before you scream of how Gujaratis are buying luxury cars and foreign holidays...stop.
We are NOT talking about the rich, neo and super rich.
Note it down. Vikas is no more #BJPs selling point in Gujarat. Likely that #Hindutva will be their old, trusted tool, in next year's State elections.

Dev Prabhakar Singh Tomar is the grandson of an infamous Chambal dacoit. After four attempts at UPSC, three interviews and years of preparation, Tomar secured an AIR of 629.
The Chambal region, which straddles the borders of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, has long been synonymous with two things—its rugged ravines and the dangerous dacoits that dwelled in them.
One can leave Chambal to escape the poverty and caste conflict that plagues the region, but the dacoit tag is far more difficult to shed. It follows you everywhere.
Tomar’s grandfather accepted state amnesty and surrendered back in 1972. But his Chambal links followed Tomar through school, college and higher studies.
His way of overcoming the stigma was to study hard, score well in his exams and find a good job.
To know what pushed him to prepare for civil services, read this report by Himanshi Aggarwal:

In September, @IndianExpress' investigation revealed that two Election Commissioners had written separately to the Cabinet Secretary seeking action against a senior officer inside the EC.
What happened to those letters is now on record.
File notings obtained under RTI by Commodore Lokesh Batra (retd) show the Cabinet Secretariat discussed the letters on August 3 & 4, then decided to do nothing beyond acknowledging them.
The reasoning? Sandhu and Joshi had written in their individual capacity, not as the Commission.
“In the absence of any official communication from the Commission as a whole, any action at this stage may be inappropriate. It may also be construed as interference in the functioning of the Constitutional Body.”
The Commission, as our investigation has shown, had not met as a full body for FOUR months.

China and India in a standoff at multiple locations along Arunachal border since July, India hosted Xi Jinping from Sep 11-13 for the BRICS summit.
“In the past few-days, a situation arose where face-off happened at several locations in Arunachal and it still continues,” ITBP D-G Shatrujeet Kapur said on Thursday.
This is the first official confirmation of the scale of the continuing tensions on the north-eastern border since July this year.
Government sources told The Hindu that since late July, India and China have been engaged in a stand-off at Asaphila near Taksing in Arunachal Pradesh. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is said to have pitched tents at an elevation, within 6-7 kilometres of India’s perception of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near Maja company operating base in Taksing circle of Upper Subansiri district, sources said. The New Delhi Dehra-Dun expressway is a breeze. You will fly
After a point you will also realise that flying is the only option because there are no restrooms.
Unless you are an Indian male. Then all the world is a toilet
After making the entire country dance around for KYCs and SIRs their security keys are 4 and 56. Never has such dizzyingly high incompetence married zero accountability on such a large scale. Motherland for a reason ⚡
RTI reply obtained by @CommodoreBatra shows what HT reported- cab secy fwded letter to DOPT. Also ECs complained only about DEC maneesh garg who had flown under the radar till then
I was Born and brought up in Gujarati family, got married to Bangali, I slowly developed taste for Bangla food too. I learnt speaking in Bangla. Mukul if required used to argue in Gujarati in Gujarat High court. We used to fight in English. We never imposed our food choices on each other. @free_thinker can speak both Gujarati and Bangla, infact he enjoys not only
Bangla and Guju food but also enjoyes different national or international cousins.
People must have freedom to eat whatever he/she likes, to wear whatever dress he/she wants. Language also should not be imposed. Each up to its choice. Ordinary people must have that much freedom atleast.
