This is such an important thread. Being a mom to littles is really isolating, and can feel like a total loss of self. It is SO important to find people, places, and events that help you connect to yourself and the world beyond your identity as a mom.Everyone will be better for it

This thread is gut- wrenching. The pain, shame, and heartache that families are carrying in the face of addiction is so heavy. I sit with it week in and week out. This thread is a glimpse into our humanity and the need to be seen and loved in the midst of suffering.
When my daughter was 7 years-old she once interrupted a bedtime story to tell me, “In a pie-eating contest, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose because you get to eat pie.” I think about that a lot.
