The Iron Duke is an Art Deco Public House. Designed by AW Ecclestone for the Lacons Brewery. Bars made from teak taken from the WW1 Battleship HMS Iron Duke .
#BFTWNI made it into the JDW magazine.
However, we are noted as another organisation (which we have nothing whatsoever to do with) and not as ourselves.
I have sent a message to JDW to have this corrected in the next magazine.
So much for a blaze of publicity. More of a sour note.
What is happening to protect the Iron Duke? Why the delays and budget issues with over 2.5 million of public funding? #pubs#heritage#lottery#listed https://t.co/pahQqmIwE5
The Village Pub, Barnsley, #Cirencester ๐ป
The pub started life as 3 cottages which were converted in the early 18th century into The Greyhound Inn, until the 1920s when the pub changed its name to The Village Inn. It reopened in the Summer of 2024 as The Village Pub.
Todayโs bonus pub is OโBrienโs in West Ealing, a proper laidback oldschool boozer slinging Guinness for a fiver.

Pub 3161, White Lion, Grantham. 'We do have real ale, but we've not had time to put it on yet!" chirps our host. Not sure that counts! Guinness chilly. Welsman rants about poll tax. Pool players smile. Carpet a 7. Lincs, never fails to disappoint ๐ Kinda love it.
We went out shopping earlier on. When we got back we decided to put the heating on for half an hour - in June
I made dressed salmon & fluffy rice for Susan, liver & onions with mash for me.
Then came a local butcher made rhubarb crumble. I went for a small tub of custard. Totally spoiled by being banana flavoured. Disgusting.
Spoiled myself with fresh ground coffee and a glass (or two) of LBV port @CroftPort to get rid of the taste
