Our students are walking out of classes tomorrow to support city, county
& state leaders at City Hall as they urge AISD board of trustees to vote against this rushed, unsound & inequitable school closures plan. We stand in solidarity w/ the #SaveAustinSchools coalition. Join us.
One of our Pease parent alumni, the immensely talented Michael Sieben, designed these wonderful stickers for our Cupcake Tree Hootenanny celebration tomorrow. #PeaseSpiritNeverDies 💜🌳
(Shout out to local titans @IndustryPrint for stellar work and quick turnaround!)
Have you shared your ideas for the future use of @savepease@RosedaleSchool or @AustinISD Anita Coy facility yet?
You know our community's needs & together we have the creativity to imagine something powerful for each site.

The Stetson report for special education in @AustinISD started in 2019. There were COVID delays for completion. It was taxpayer funded. The Superintendent publicly stated it is complete.I asked for it via open records and got this. We deserve better. #aisdsped
Please join this meeting, even if your child doesn’t attend. The decision has been made to remove 6th grade with no community input, knowing CAC is not well attended. We need more voices to oppose this. “Have it All” is only for some it seems. #AISD
This is an emergency! This is the meeting where parents will be told no more 6th grade at Martin next year. This is the only community engagement planned before announced to staff on Tuesday. We need everyone to attend and make public comment. Please retweet AISD followers.
I’m getting a flood of msgs from parents asking if they should send their kids to school next wk. There’s a lot to say, & it’s an indiv decision for every kid. TL;DR: there will only be 2 kinds of school in a wk or two: the planned closed ones & the unplanned closed ones. @hcpss
Intro: I am on the AISD Long Range Planning Facilities committee & an EAC sub-committee. It seems important to document the process in real time.
Below is Gov. Ann Richards signing Public Edu bill into Law under the Pease ES cupcake tree. History matters. These places matter.
Austin ISD families: There is a free COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine opportunity open to students, staff, and families for individuals 12 years of age & older. No appointment required.

@SharynVane@MamaBea79358492@AustinISD This is completely infuriating, we fought so hard bc we questioned the budget benefit. By voicing opposition & concern @savepease closure timeline was changed-moved up in retaliation. I hope this never happens to another community by @AustinISD. What policies will change?
@MamaBea79358492@AustinISDsupt@MamaBea79358492 guarantees were made last time https://t.co/HthZL4TmSu I’m afraid history will repeat itself with unkept promises. And they just got a billion dollars just a few years ago!!! And still closed schools because of budget deficits.
