Some ways you can help stop deforestation:
- plant trees
- print less
- eat less meat and dairy and more vegetables
- spread awarness
- recycle
- don't use firewood to heat up your fireplace
- buy organic products
- use less paper
@CanadAiRangers This video is very informative and there are so many small things that we can do which would reduce air pollution and save so many people.
Deforestation affects the Earth's water ecosystem because the trees in forests have a major role in the water cycle. They transport large quantities of water into the atmosphere through the process of plant transpiration.
One way that Deforestation affects animal ecosystems is starvation. All animals in some way get their energy from plants Plants make energy from the sun and herbivores eat plants. Carnivores eat herbivores, which gained their energy from plants.
Deforestation affects aquatic ecosystems in many different ways. When forests are cut down, the root system which held the the soil starts to fail, which leads to increased erosion. This can enter a stream system and cover the bottom, which would kill benthic organsims.
In addition to that it would also clog the gills of fish, which would lead to a loss of oxygen in the stream, which would cause massive organism die-offs. Furthermore, the trees provide shade to the water, keeping temperatures down.
Deforestation affects the carbon cycle because plants are one of the main storage areas for carbon and deforestation reduces the number of trees. Thus, more carbon (in the form of carbon dioxide) remains in the atmosphere and disrupts the normal carbon cycle.
