When Carnegie gifted 16 libraries to Glasgow in 1901 he wrote, "Let Glasgow flourish, so say we all of us Scotsmen throughout the world."
Today Glaswegians marched to reaffirm these words. We demand all our libraries, sport and cultural venues are reopened, and no jobs are lost.
Delighted @GlasgowCC announced £1m for work on our pool, it's at the 💜 of our community and will be needed for #covidrecovery. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in anyway. The work has paid off and we'll continue to work towards it's future.
Brilliant news today that the future of Whitehill Pool has been secured with critical refurbishment and maintenance work agreed. @SaveWhitehill worked cross-party in a determined way while was I the MP. They united the community. They made the political price of closure too high.
Special thanks to the Alan(s) at Milnbank housing association and Grant Murray architects for the behind the scenes hard work and ongoing support as well as all our elected members both current and previous. Looking forward to working with any new elected members too 😉
I am so delighted that today’s @SNPforGlasgow budget deal reached with the Glasgow Greens will deliver a much needed £1million capital investment fund for Whitehill Pool. I’m sure this will be welcome news for the community of Dennistoun and everyone at @SaveWhitehill
Delighted at the announcement from Glasgow Life that Whitehill Pool will open as part of the phased re-opening of venues when it is safe to do so. This is in addition to the previous news of re-opening of Dennistoun Library. @SaveWhitehill@DennistounCC

Lovely to meet you virtually tonight @MhairiSwanson. We completely agree with your campaign and we will need funding to ensure swimming is a sport we can all enjoy as part of #covidrecovery
Scotland will face a future pandemic fighting obesity, alcoholism and mental health issues if these pools are forced to close down. Please @NicolaSturgeon 🤞🏽 leisure centres need help to be saved 🤞🏽
We’ve replenished leaflet stock @zerowasteGLA on Hillfoot Street #Dennistoun for our #COVID19 Volunteers to continue flyering their local streets to reach our offline #community. Please mark up Flyering Plan to make sure we don’t do same streets twice! ➡️https://t.co/6E1vLsstp9
