I hate when people say “housework can wait. Enjoy your kids while they’re little.”
You either haven’t had children or don’t remember what it’s like because my kids need clean clothing which requires washing, folding and putting away laundry, 3 meals a day not to mention snacks which requires planning, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, dishes. My baby’s highchair needs wiped down 3x a day and swept up after. Baby also puts everything in her mouth so the floors need cleaned throughout the day. The bathtub needs to cleaned for the kids to have baths, the toilet needs to be cleaned for the 3 year old who touches it while she’s climbing up onto it plus just generally it needs to be cleaned.
This is the most unrealistic thing to say to a mother of young kids. Also, I have no desire to live in a dirty cluttered messy house.
A Cesarean section is the only major surgery in the world where:
Five to seven layers of tissue — skin, fat, fascia, muscle, and uterus — are carefully opened.
And A new life is lifted into the world — sometimes urgently, sometimes unexpectedly.
And within hours, the mother is told to stand, walk, and care for her newborn.
Six hours after surgery where stitches, staples, and deep incisions still burn — she is expected to:
Feed her baby
Change diapers
Bond through exhaustion
Sit up despite intense abdominal pain
And while healing, her body still goes through:
Contractions as the uterus shrinks back
Hormonal surges
Breast milk production
Emotional turbulence
Sleepless nights
Yet she keeps going — even when:
Laughing hurts
Sneezing hurts
Standing hurts
Sleeping hurts
Breathing hurts
Still… she does it.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because she feels ready.
But because her baby needs her.
And that — is strength.
To every C-section mom reading this:
You didn’t take the “easy way.”
You took the necessary way.
You chose life, safety, and love.
Your scar is not a mark of weakness —
✨ It is a silent badge of courage. ✨
Whether planned, emergency, or after hours of labor —
you brought a life into this world with bravery few will ever understand.
So hold your head high.
Rest when you need to.
Heal at your own pace.
And never forget:
You are strong.
You are enough.
You are a warrior.

Emotional footage from Afghanistan shows Afghan female medical students and their instructor in tears, consoling each other after the Taliban banned them from continuing their studies. The new directive shuts women out of medicine—the last field still open to them.
The Taliban has just banned Afghan women from attending nursing school.
Imagine: you cannot pursue any education, even healthcare, because of the sole reason that you are a woman.
We are witnessing the erasure of women in real-time. It is beyond horror.
Maybe I’m getting cynical in my old age but you’ve got millionaire celebrities and tax dodging celebrities on Children In Need asking “what’s £50?” to some families watching who will be living pay cheque to pay cheque
Right listen here. A staycation is where you stay at home and visit local tourist sites etc. Basically act as if you are holiday whilst staying at home. If you drive to Cornwall or somewhere else in the UK that is a holiday not a staycation.
I'm profoundly disturbed by the way that some Christian leaders in the US are drawing an equivalence between Jesus' unjust trial and execution with Donald Trump's criminal conviction.
Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, with whom he had an adulterous relationship.
To compare Trump to Jesus is a disgrace.
Jesus is the son of God who lived a life of selfless compassion. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, and welcomed strangers.
He laid down his life to offer the forgiveness of sins to all of us.
To make any kind of justification for Trump's actions by comparing him to Jesus is a serious, indeed a blasphemous suggestion.
