@tes A quick decision is needed, @uksciencechief, @ukgov, @GavinWilliamson, or it would need to be a 3 week break, given non-standardisation of term dates: independent schools are breaking up on 16 Oct for 2 wks, as opposed to 23 Oct for state schools, many of which are also for 2wks.
