@tmavuram@jpteasdale Just recently heard from a friend that he went on drinks with a woman, vibes were good as per him, paid for both, and the woman blocked him right after they parted ways. Definitely not surprised if this shift is happening
@easonwong81@AgniVesa_07 It was supposed to be the next super power almost 100 years ago. But ended up being a serial defaulter and got relegated to a upper-middle-income country.
We wouldn't be having the internet in its existing form and apartheid states like Rhodesia would be still around without the push from the USSR. Competition and rivalry is indeed necessary for everyone's sake. We produce our best work when we're uncomfortable and pushed to limits
The USSR pushed the Western world into advancing labor rights, technological developments, civil rights because there was a competing ideology that was providing all of that in spades.
The US has gotten comfortable with no competing ideology, so capitalism is being pushed to its logical conclusion and Western governments are more comfortable stripping rights and wealth from the masses.
@pplsartofwar would like to see China and the US push each other bring the best out of each other again.

A less extreme example is Arnold Douwes who was even sent back from the US and found his purpose as a Dutch resistance fighter against Nazis

@HollyGrayle@IdeasFactory009 Indians lacked the culture of killing visitors. Vasco da gama was well received when he landed on the subcontient
> The navigator was received with traditional hospitality, including a grand procession of at least 3,000 armed Nairs...
Same with the Brits
Quite a farfetched prediction when the technology is fundamentally indeterministic, has nuked production DBs & led to other issues including lawsuits. Can only wonder what worse outcomes we will see when local deployments become mainstream and are not duly maintained proactively
I am now fully convinced that software engineering would go the same route of Civil Eng / Mechanical Eng in India
There is no moat left in coding
the transformation of Indian education system to compete in this market will take decades
Till the time HITL is a thing 90% folks can hold on to there jobs
Others please move to ML/ Infra / Electrical asap
This is under discussed. Most pro non-veg bros will just eat biryani and other non_veg slop (mostly drenched in oil) with some meat in it. Boomers see that and chastise non veg food as a whole. The right way to do deal with it is to educate ppl in prioritizing protein in diet
Indian food scene is basically arguing about which carbslop is better - veg or non-veg
Indians will have 70% of their plate filled with rice + a protein source like meat/paneer like achaar
To save money, many Indians have the habit of diluting dal so much that it is basically spiced water in the end

@code_sagar Except the technology we all are banking on is fundamentally indeterministic and has nuked production DBs & other issues. I love the LLM based tech but you can only count on it so much when you need to constantly prompt "are you sure?". And I am talking about cutting edge models
@stefdhrhsf People forget that the statistical middle class in the country doesn't earn more than 150k per annum. That itself means more people are out of knowledge economy. Women either have to do blue collar work or marry for upward mobility. It's not hard to figure out what they do.
